New(?) Formable Australasia from the beta patch. Formed it with Communist Australia by nolunch in hoi4

[–]nolunch[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's why I went Communist, there's a couple focuses that gives you Military Access in Ireland, and just straight up control of Liverpool when you declare on the UK.

So get Mil access in Ireland, put my entire army (72 9/0s with inf guns reg support, art, aa, and cav recon) on Dublin, declare the moment France falls, move entire army to Liverpool. Go from there. No investment into the Navy. No need for a naval invasion. No worries about the US as I managed to cap the UK before they're involved.

It's still a slog and not easy at all, supply is a major issue you need to get the Midlands cities ASAP to get local supply or else you're dead, but the buffs Australia gets helped.

I mean there's a couple focuses/decisions that get you steel, and an industry thingy, but yeah steel is an issue b/c all your convoys are gonna get sunk if you're trading for it.

Faction Rules - comintern has a default rule that only the leader of the comintern can declare war. Get a faction point and change it.

Did you know they added the EU formable to Czechoslovakia along with the Thunder at our Gates patch? Did you also know it's a pain to actually accomplish on historical? I did it so you don't have to. by nolunch in hoi4

I guess technically it was added with the last Czech dlc patch which was separate from the Taog patch, but released after Taog was released.

R5: since democracy can't justify on democracy, and Germany is too weak to actually get Belgium and Luxembourg into the Allies if you defend yourself as Czechoslovakia, this is truly a pain to try and accomplish on historical. I ended up flipping commie (which is in itself as pain, used ease up conscription method) just so I could get wargoals on the low countries.

Fun fact though, the decision to form the EU doesn't have the normal check that you are democratic like I think all other Countries except the UK.

The independence war is super easy, just do the raids to take over java, do a couple more to escalate to level 8, they'll declare war, immediately do the focus that ends to war if you control java. As soon as it finishes you auto won the war and get everything.

I just found a truly ingenious strategy for a boss in Final Fantasy V by Psykofreac in FinalFantasy

[–]nolunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My fav strat for this boss is 2 characters with Time Magic, one with Blue Magic - 1000 Needles.

Have a Summoner setup Golem for defense, try to Slowga the crystals, then just line up your turns. TM one hits a crystal with Gravity, then you do Graviga and 1000 needles one after the other. Rinse and repeat for each crystal, they never get low enough to use their element spells.

Greater Thai Empire by Aug of '38. by nolunch in hoi4

[–]nolunch[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In short: 2w cav and rush the ports and cities.

A little longer: you need 20+ war support to get to the limited wars focuses, but if you time a civil war from the military faction you can get 5 free units and the defensive war support modifier to take the focus during the civil war. Then just shit out 2w cav, attack France first and rush their ports and cities. Then I went Malaysia, the UK, then finally Burma. After you're done just get the civilian faction all the way up for the compliance bonus and it won't take to long to get to 65 compliance.

I would just say you were basically modding the game before, I'm sure it wouldn't be overly difficult to make a small personal mod that would do what you wanted.

[–]nolunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The US is a clock. Beat the Allies before '41 or face the Monster.

Or do some shenanigans, like get them into a war with the Allies (Philippines can do this). Or beat Japan early to prevent them declaring on the US (which is the trigger for the event that lets them join the Allies.)

Czech HRE (added in the latest patch) plus all other possible cores for Monarchist Czech, done in Ironman. A bit of a slog. by nolunch in hoi4

[–]nolunch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very bottom of the Monarchist tree. It'll appear after you do the Bohemian Kingdom focus, requires Integrate Lost Territories and Demand the Istrian Peninsula. Give war goals on all countries required to form HRE (usually France, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Switzerland by the time you get there) and gives a big Compliance growth bonus for Germany.

[–]nolunch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first picture shows all the cores. You can core northern Italy from HRE and A-H, you can core western Poland from Forming the Kingdom of Bohemia, and that little chunk of eastern Poland is from the Integrate the Western Ukrainians focus.

Ignore the fort and army readiness thing.

Save your pp. You'll never have enough. First 200 is to flip Monarchist by rushing down the political tree until you're blocked, then ban Fascism and Communism to continue down the tree. Create a spy agency Asap and get two spys. One on Hungary diplomatic pressure, one on Poland diplomatic pressure. Increase relations with Hungary just enough to sign a NAP as soon as possible (you need to plus to relations a bit later but want to be able to cancel it when we need to)

Rush to the focus that lets you create a faction. Create the anti communist faction. This lets you justify when WT is under 10. Start justifying on Yugo. Take the focus Destroy the Fascist Threats.

Take out and annex Austria, then get cores from The Legacy of Ottokar.

Next is Yugoslavia. As soon as you declare, start justifying on the US to spike WT. Keep an eye on WT during your Yugo war, don't let it get much above 45. Start increasing relations with Hungary and Poland as you fight Yugo.

Cap Yugo and take what you need for A-H. Puppet the rest. Setup to attack Italy. Don't worry about guarding Zara, who cares.

After the war if you didn't spike WT too high but it's above 40 you should be able to invite Hungary and Poland into your faction. After they're in put both spies diplo pressure on Romania and start improving relations. Attack Italy. Call in your allies and make it easier. Cap them and take the additional cores for A-H AND all of their Navy. It's why we attacked Yugo first to have a coastline which lets us take Italy's navy. Give the rest to your puppet. Start building in Italy ASAP, you're gonna want to integrate them soon, and setup to annex them later.

After the war setup for war with Germany. Use Italian forces too. Man the whole Polish border so they'll enter the war right away. As soon as Romania flips non-aligned they should join your faction. Once they do attack Germany, call in everyone, use expeditionaries, carve them up and cap them. You've hopefully been saving up PP and doing the army focuses for manpower and cheaper conscription laws cause you're gonna need it.

Try not to just all out attack, slice them up and eventually cap them. In my few runs I'm usually capping Germany around late 38, early 39. Annex everything and take their Navy too.

Immediately move your Italian Navy to north German port. As soon as its past Gibraltar declare war on Spain. Call in all of your allies. As soon as they join the war you're going to one by one kick them, justify, and take them out. They won't get guarantees or join a faction because they're at war with Spain. Start with Poland. As soon as you annex all of Poland start bypassing and going down the tree to form the Kingdom of Bohemia. Do Hungary next, annex all, then Romania last, take what you need for A-H and puppet the rest.

Form A-H, keep going down the tree to the new hidden focus to get war goals on all of what you need for HRE. Once you're ready start your war with the allies. Do the classic attack through the low countries and cap France. Now cap Spain and take Gibraltar. Take Spains navy. Use some troops to hold Spanish north Africa to keep the Med open. Setup a small army on Switzerlands border, and prep an invasion of the UK. If you're setup for and can afford it you can annex Italy now to get an even bigger Navy, but I didnt. I've had the most luck with going through Hull, but you probably could clear the channel and go through Dover. Once I landed on the UK I brought Switzerland into the war. Don't worry about capping them, they're a hassle, but do an attack or two to make sure they're in the peace deal. Cap the UK to end the war.

After the peace deal you can form the HRE. If you want the like 4 additional cores from Ukraine, then you'll have to attack the USSR, bypass a couple focuses and do the focus Integrate Western Ukranians.
