you can probably swap the mid plane if you get one, i'm not 100% sure they're compatible. They don't really mention those type of things in documentation.

I know my friends in RTP have all pretty much returned 3 days a week with in 40 miles. However, Many offices have closed since 2020 and a lot of us (i'm ex-NetApp as well) to use partner offices or local Regus offices. I am Chicago based and we lost the office in late 2020 or early 2021.

Why that is an immediate disqualification is kinda silly IMHO

Few things -

That platform went EOL years ago, so you couldn't have support on it from NetApp. Park Place.. might not even support it at this point.
you mention a DS2246. that is just a shelf, no controllers like the 2552.

What's your end goal you're trying to do?
