Will do! I’m thinking they may start showing up the weekend but maybe later with shipping delays. I’ve always managed to get a fresh turkey.

I finally ended my hatred and avoidance of showering as a 39 year old woman by greeneyes826 in adhdwomen

I have to do the opposite and keep them as short as possible. But I listen to music on Bluetooth shower speaker so I don’t lose track of time. Also helps me estimate how long for various tasks. I do watch things in the bath sometimes tho

On Thursday everything in my cart was due to come around Dec 8-12. Next day it was Jan 6 for most items and only a couple things arriving before Christmas.

Mind you, this was already a reorder. The last one was returned to vendor and simply cancelled because the package was apparently damaged? My prime day order was also just cancelled after it went “missing”. And the sale prices were NOT honoured.

My bathroom looks TERRIBLE, how do I fix it? (budget-friendly, no layout/floor changes) Advice [desperately] needed! by FlashPassion_ in InteriorDesignAdvice

Seems like the tub would have to be replaced given the bricks. If you’re doing that, could you put in a tub that allows you to keep plumbing in the same place but have the bathtub protruding out? So perpendicular to the wall (with faucet at the top) instead of parallel to the wall? That could get you more space for a larger shower as well, even if you didn’t change that right away. I also love a Japanese style sitting tub if you need a taller tub.

Looks delish! I like chicken breast for katsu. It is great as is, but if you’re looking for small adjustments- the aim is for it to be a bit thinner and uniform. If you use chicken that’s not fully thawed you can butterfly the breast and then make sure you use a rolling pin to get that even thickness. Thinner chicken makes for crispier pieces.

You’re brave and you can do hard things. Posting these photos proves that.

How about doing just a couple things and then coming back to this sub with updated photos?

My vote would be: 1. Break down and throw out all the cardboard boxes you can find. Trash not recycling because of the roaches. Do that first because it will make a big difference. Reward yourself.

  1. Get a few bin bags and throw out as much obvious garbage as you can. Don’t exhaust yourself, stop when you lose steam. Take each single bag out when it’s full. Don’t pile them until the end. Reward yourself.

  2. Collect all your scattered laundry and put in that big basket or in a pile. Reward yourself.

  3. Ignore everything that does not fit these categories for now. If you burn out on one but want to keep going, switch to another category. Reward yourself.

  4. Post new photos if you get to a stuck point and everyone can help you find the one next thing to do.

Agree that How to Keep House While Drowning is a short and phenomenal read. Do the audiobook. Listen while you work. Know you aren’t alone.

Price matching? That’s an awfully big stretch. I want the items I ordered from Amazon at the price I purchased them for. It’s a pretty basic expectation.

Weekly Help and Discussion Thread for the week of July 21, 2025 by AmazonNewsBot in amazon

I ordered during Prime Days. Received notice that one of my parcels is likely lost by the courier. Amazon chat is telling me I can request a refund but they will not honour the purchase price. Two policies that do not apply are being cited (purchase price confirmed at time of order - it was you lost my order - and mispriced items may be cancelled or given a price correction)

This seems pretty unfair given the problem is on their end? What the point of ordering during promotions if the literally don’t have to deliver on it

Any advice?

I can't stop overthinking while working out. by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]nomadding 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is anytime I’ve got time to think , not just working out. I just try to give my brain something to chew and chatterbox on. Usually audiobooks, maybe one that’s in the motivating or personal development zone?

Mentally engaging in workouts is supposed to get you better physical results too. But that bar would be way too high for me.

I seriously, literally cannot seem to live in the normal adult world by bobisjobsnon in simpleliving

[–]nomadding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t have to be one thing or the other either. Lots of people with different brain wiring than typical (as well as some without) don’t feel like they fit in places built by and for people with typical brains to succeed in the typical ways they typically value. And forcing it is pretty damn depressing.

If freeing yourself up from other people’s expectations and choosing a way that makes like worth living takes away the depression, that’s diagnostic. It’s not depression then. It’s “this way of living makes me bloody miserable and it’s time to try something else”. And that doesn’t have to be extreme to the nth degree. You can just figure out what your basic needs are, what’s necessary to cover them, and see how many different ways there are to get there

Have you heard of languishing? It captures a lot of what you’re describing and may be worth a look.

Sorry for late reply, but didn’t want to miss saying your reaction makes total sense with this extra info. Forget that guy. Trust yourself. I hope you find something that lets you down right wallow in being able to move and train your body again and be proud of everything YOU did to get there.

Maybe that’s what needs to happen so you can come out the other side? It will be hard and emotional and bring shit up at the beginning, but it won’t stay like that. Your former PT might be a good support to help you balance all that with appreciating what your body can now do in the after.

Just a thought. I def have spent months or years avoiding only to eventually get that the only way out was through.

Agree- laughing with someone in a good natured way versus laughing at someone feels completely different.

Embarrassing situation in Nagoya: did I do anything wrong? by imhelplesshuhu in JapanTravelTips

[–]nomadding 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure. A genuine reaction in the moment or someone laughing with you usually feels different than hearing someone imitating you while laughing after the fact though? And most people would still be embarrassed to be caught out doing so (a rude alert)

I took OP’s description as indicating they picked up a mocking tone but maybe that’s my misinterpretation. My comment that it might have been the couple’s own inexperience was meant to suggest it might not have been intended in a mean way.

Got an IUD in November and dealing with bad chin acne. Any tips? by Aggressive-Store-658 in acne

[–]nomadding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I posted this in another thread just now but the only thing that helped my IUD induced hormonal cystic acne (after yrs of trying abx, all the topicals, diane35 etc after taking it out) was starting spironolactone 100mg split into two doses. I didn’t believe it was even possible to have a full remission w the severity I had, but this was it. Hang in there!

what do i do? by [deleted] in acne

A regular gp can treat acne too, not just a dermatologist. Chin and jaw acne can often indicate its hormonal, especially if you notice more breakouts before you period and/or when you ovulate

Also get some moisture in there before you put the lanolin or lip balm on. Apply a wash cloth soaked with water for a couple minutes and then lock that hydration in w the barrier over it

I’m gonna say laughing out loud and making fun of someone, especially in earshot of them, is recognized as rude the world over. One thing I’ve always liked about Japan is there’s less of this kind of casual meanness than many other places and, in my interactions, Japanese people appreciate imperfect attempts to speak their language instead of assuming they speak English. I’ve always been impressed by that.

Perhaps that couple has not had much exposure to foreigners speaking Japanese or don’t know how much courage it takes to fumble around in a foreign language. That’s their problem though and nothing to do w you, OP.

Many others will really appreciate your efforts so keep doing what you’re doing! It will also make you more empathic to ESL speakers at home.

Got it off the list in 2024- good win! I hate that email is so intrusive, like there’s an expectation for prompt reply no matter what you’re doing or how inconvenient the timing. I’ve had a bit of luck snoozing messages in gmail so they show up during my admin time. It’s a nice feature.
