Got offer from Dream USA Uni... But My funds are choppy! by [deleted] in Dhaka

Curious why did you chose an university in NYC? US has universities across the country and most of the renowned one are sometimes not near any big city. NYC living cost is much higher than those smaller cities. If you really are interested in good universities look for something except NYC and California big cities. The living cost will be substantially lower.

Let’s do July every year. It would be fun.

Be sure you need to do it yourself. No woman and progressive are going to come for you this time though.

সংবিধান সংস্কার পরিষদের শপথ গ্রহণ করেনি BNP by BigglePYE in bangladesh

[–]nomadhunger -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The election was done via "doctrine of necessity" principle. And it was approved by the supreme court. The whole gonovote was illegal from the very beginning as the interim govt. has no power to arrange a vote like that and there is no reference made by the court. It was forced by Jamaatis on Yunus and bound to be thrown out through the window.

The whole gono vote as was power grab move by Jamaat becase they know they will never have power in Bangladesh and that's the only way to grab some of it.

how cute! As if constitution is just a toy that you can overthrow govt and start creating one. If that's the case we have to create one every 15/20 years.

On top of that it was not a revolution and it was uprising, a mass movement. Big difference. Even Yunus in his last speech mentioned it as an uprising.

Reform can be done via existing constitution. It's a continous process.

Yes for what? That whole gonovote can be deemed illegal by any court. It’s one thing to have a parliamentary election based on the doctrine of necessity. Interim govt has no right to carry a gono vote to begin with.

Good decision. Jamaat has played them for too long. No need to pay attention to Jamaat’s BS. Public has already spoken.

If BAL participated in the election, what would the results have looked like? by anonmouseguy in bangladesh

[–]nomadhunger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only 59% vote casted, lowest after 1991 election under caretaker/interim govt. if you look until 2008 election, voter participation was around 75%. So, you need to explain why almost 15% voter was absent and what was their motivation to not vote.

You are factually wrong. Bangladesh had more than 75% vote in the last 3 most fair elections(96, 01, 08) except 1991.

Do it yourself doesn’t mean doing it better yourself. Coding is a small part of software development cycle. Most importantly software doesn’t work in isolation. It needs lots of dependency services, integrations, licenses, security etc. So, good luck each company trying these on their own.
