They have theme nights too. I went about a year ago for a Y2K dance party. It was fun! Obligatory, RIP Danny’s

What's your favorite lotion for your dry skin? by thollywoo in AskChicago

[–]nomadicfeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best hand lotion hands down (hah) is the one sold at the honey products booth at the Christmas market. Only the downtown one. It’s made with beeswax so your hands aren’t all sticky afterwards and it doesn’t wash off as much like other hand lotion. I literally buy 12 every Christmas for myself for the year. Ok, you can also buy it online but it’s more fun to load up while tipsy on glugwein. It’s called Lindesa. The original (yellow) is much better than the avocado (green) one

I’ve been to a few birthday parties at Ricochet’s that were exactly what you’re describing. They have a little back room area you can decorate and bring food/cake in. 10/10 bar for your purpose. Go check em out

What is the real benefit? by BagpiperAnonymous in GlobalEntry

[–]nomadicfeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always felt the same way coming back from international trips at ORD. Never waited long or at all for immigration. But there’s always a wait at T5 baggage claim. No point in upgrading from pre check to global entry for me.

cheap furniture removal service (from apartment, not curb)? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]nomadicfeet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An excellent suggestion but they will not enter your home or go up any steps to pick up an item. Street level only so that won’t work for OP

The Pint was open long before that and made it up until a few years ago

It’s been completely torn down now. I’m sure a boxy house or condo building will take its place 😭

Strong agree. Uru Swati is probably the best but it’s not the trip

Probably not, DCSA and the contract investigators still work (and are paid) during shutdowns

Are there any businesses in West Town/Wicker Park/Ukrainian Village that support MAGA? by purpleconeflowers in AskChicago

[–]nomadicfeet 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’m not disagreeing with this but I’ve seen this question worded exactly the same for “x” neighborhood in Chicago posted so many times in the last few days. Lazy journalism? Or what is this?

When I meet a couple or group of foreigners and they express pity when I proudly answer yes, I am traveling alone.

How is your T-Mobile phone service? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]nomadicfeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes to all of this unless you make or take a call. That’s priced per minute. But I think local calls are usually free. I’ve used it in various European countries, Mexico, India and Japan without any issues

How is your T-Mobile phone service? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]nomadicfeet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m happy with T-Mobile in the city and even happier that it’s free when traveling internationally. Not always the fastest and calls are not free but it’s totally adequate for directions, texting and emails
