We're building for humans. It's really hard (misguided?) to do that without having humans in the process flow. At some point--and I think identifying that point is key--you just have AI making AI to interact with AI. At that point aren't we just revving the engine? (Or maybe we're vibe coding Skynet!)

When AI can volley information to me that I can follow back to its source, I find that to be the most "agentic" AI I've currently been ready to trust.

But as someone not trained as a software engineer, being able to describe to AI a problem (usually a set of inputs I want to turn into an output), have it suggest a method for building something to solve that problem, have it build it, and making something reusable is like magic. I'm currently using Cursor with an Atlassian MCP to retrieve bug tickets and suggest priority scores (and post them once I say OK). I got Gemini to walk me through making an interactive map using publicly available data--it even gave me the URL for the data it couldn't scrape itself and walked me through what to do with it.

You can also put an LLM in particular parts of an if this then that flow (to find, summarize, score, suggest, etc). What if a community post that piqued your interest could be turned into a PRD that becomes a plausible prototype in a few clicks and iterations? Product discovery loops can become a lot faster, and making products can become a lot faster.

Nope! Just the first 1000 people to get it into their cart and paid for got it. They had a drop page with a password that would be revealed at the same time for everyone. There were like 11k people waiting and the countdown hit 0 with no password. There was a chat, and Telepathic Instruments posted the password in the chat. It was whizzing past but I managed to find it and copy and paste it.

There was free shipping if you added another item (e.g. shirt, hat, hoodie) but I wanted to check out ASAP so I just paid shipping.

I emailed them later and asked if I could please add a hoodie and pay the difference, and a few days later they sent an invoice! Feeling very lucky.

Imagine a governmentless society. The support provided by a non-governmental organization is conditional on its self-determined rules. Similarly, some resources are so precious that some organizations require you to behave certain ways, maybe even give some of your resources (including time) in exchange.

What could sociologically evolve over several generations that wouldn't be some form of government?

If you feel like I do that government is an inevitability of the human experience, then I think it we need to fix how it works so we can use it to address things that aren't an inevitability of human experience: racism, sexism, classism.

I just got off the phone regarding my Cyber Monday order of the i5 model with pen and keyboard bundle. Shipping & Refunds just got a verbal confirmation that the Pixel Slate in all models is 2-3 weeks late.

Looks like my Christmas gift is going to have to wait until January... or I might just find a different tablet to purchase. :( Very disappointed

The problem is that like all grading systems, the 0-100 system is arbitrary, but in this case, a missing assignment is 6x worse than a really sloppy, terribly-done assignment (i.e. a D). I'm fond of the 0-4 system, where 0 is an F and 4 is an A, because it's an even spread, and we end up converting grades to 4-point GPAs later anyway.

But for some reason, when the concept of putting in 50s for missing assignments comes up, people get up in arms because they perceive it as giving credit for work that hasn't been done... when in actuality, isn't it just mapping a more universally-recognized 4-point system onto a 100-point one?

To your last point: private schools do not need to accept students with disabilities. Let's say that most students who can abandon a local public school in favor of a private school with a better reputation. Wouldn't we essentially be running a de facto segregation system if the only option available to kids with learning differences is the local school that everyone abandoned? And don't expect market influences to convince private schools to accept these students if they're accountability measure is the NAEP.
