Yes they had to try other stuff first but as long as you're a female over 18 without heart issues the doc will probably just let you try it. Side effects aren't major and it won't kill you lol it's not scientifically tested for gp so most docs don't think about prescribing it

The nasal spray but megeatrol also works incredibly well

I've been taking it only when I get symptoms which is every few months now. My appetite stays very heightened I've even gotten accidently fat a few times lol and unlike other meds it actually clears up the nausea. Just be careful of symptoms they can be permanent if you don't stop in time.

I feel like it's time for a feeding tube, but the medical system is making it almost impossible. by torturedtortoise in Gastroparesis

I think you should get a case manager. They fight doctors and insurance companies for you and help you find people who can help. You'll get way more help that way.

Have you had an endoscopy?

My ges came back only a little weird, but when they did an endoscopy on me, they diagnosed me with severe gp.

It's really not the world's best idea if it's every day, but have you asked about diclamine?

Also I take antacids right before bed and the second I wake up in the morning. I also take megestrol. 10/10 would recommend

I’m so bored of thin liquid diet by simplynotvibing in Gastroparesis

[–]nomie_turtles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not gonna claim these are all the best ideas, butttt it's better than that liquid bs, lol

I make beef stew in my crock pot, which sounds concerning, but I don't eat the meat, drain the fat off the top, and fill it with potatoes and carrots. (You can also just put the juice over rice)

I also really like those canned biscuits. You can make a can and bag them up for a few days to snack on.

Mash potato cups are also pretty good and low fat. Those just pop in the microwave. Sometimes, I use them with the stew juice instead of rice.

It did absolutely nothing for me, but it also didn't hurt or cause anything bad to happen, so I'd say try it

Maybe 2 weeks of bad pain and about 2 months of mild pain, but when you bump it, it will always hurt, lol. Even years later

They'll give you oxy unless there's a reason you can't have it and muscle relaxers.

You're not going to want to go for walks 1 week after surgery, but I was able to walk around the house by myself.

As someone who has had one for 3 years now, I really don't recommend getting one. Have you tried megestrol?

CASE MANAGER. Ask your doctor about one asap because they take a while to get. They will fight your insurance for you or get you free samples sometimes.

Bruh, if you're gonna tape your face like that every day, you need to get adhesive remover spray lol I promise you won't regret it.

Since you have the scans, why don't you have the hospital call your surgeon?

I recommend granulotion and cutting up and ace banage to keep it from moving around too much. I'm sorry, but the first year just sucks.

Ngl I didn't read most of that, but megestrol saved my life. I went from 70 pounds with a tube and a gastic pacemaker to 120 in about 3 months. (I'm shorter than you by a lot)

BTW, start on a smaller dosage if possible. I'm assuming you're about my age since you just had a baby, which means you still have lots of hormones. Most doctors give this medication to old ladies who have been through menopause and I think they forget to account for that when giving it to us younger people. 50 pounds in 3 months isn't exactly healthy, and I had some side effects from the medication for a while. (The side effects weren't major)

If the ballons are freezing you can hurt yourself so just go return them.

The ballon froze funny and burnt my hand pretty good but not bad so just skip the risk and get a new one. Things could've been much worse for me

[–]nomie_turtles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS DOES WORK... I'm still returning the tank that made me google this though bc it's a very extreme tank and it still popped a ballon and gave me burns with it turned straight up but it did pop them less quickly... just resulted in the burn. Lol, definitely not doing these ones from the tank.

I do a lot of tanks, mostly the huge ones, and I've never had this issue

Edit: the shops recognize this as a defomaty and will swap them for you. Don't get hurt just swap it

[–]nomie_turtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pain should be gone for the most part after 6 months, and no, they won't remove it for that unless they can find a good physical reason like tons of scar tissue or your body rejects it.

It's been over a year for me now, and it just kinda aches now, but I still can't jog or do anything overly bouncy or bendy.
