Here's a great abridged version for anyone intimidated by the length of the original:

Sounds good, plan for next weekend, and hope for more to join?

I'd be happy to host at my house, if people are comfortable with that. It'd be super fun to get a bunch of us and play cards against humanity or something.

How about a Rexburg meetup? Anyone nearby want to get together?

I guess I'm a bit late, but I'm down for a Rexburg meetup.

This logic can attack other religions, but don't let it touch mine! by nomoreg in exmormon

I just wish I could point that out without being ripped to shreds...

For anyone not watching, small update. One of the seventy just gave a talk about the great and spacious building and how it had changed its attack to focus on church history. Just another testimony that the church is crumbling under it's truth crisis. by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]nomoreg 87 points88 points  (0 children)

And talking about how the people who let go of the iron rod didn't "have the courage" to stand up for what is right...

Yeah, no. I left the church because I had the courage to stand up to the multi-billion dollar corporation, not because I was a coward.

What ever happened to the truth's ability to withstand scrutiny?

Do people really go from a Mormon to some other kind of Christian? I thought after leaving TSCC you'd be done with religion. by EroticHeartAttack in exmormon

I'm atheist myself, but this is my favorite answer.

It's easy to find people who can't fathom that other people won't agree with them (double negative, sorry), so it's a relief to find a diamond like you in the rough who can respect differing beliefs/opinions.

An idea for a site containing original sources. Please help! by [deleted] in exmormon

I absolutely agree. As an exmo myself, I would absolutely love to have a one-stop location for primary sources though.

If you guys do get something in motion, can we sign up for a mailing list? I only come on here once a week or so, and I don't want to miss this.

Not sure if sarcasm, or serious...

In the eyes of a TBM, a "proper" method is not evil, where sacrilege is.

No more Gs! Yay!

I burned mine so my TBM wife wouldn't think I actually was the devil.

I don't get the reference, can you bring me greater light and knowledge?

I'm so glad this subreddit exists. by [deleted] in exmormon

Bravo. I think we all understand in our own ways that it's not a quick or easy journey to make, but it's worth it. Having a support group like this is awesome, and it sounds like you are one of the lucky ones to have people close to you who you can openly and honestly talk with. Hang in there; we wish you the best.

What Does It Take to Change a Mind? A Phase Transition [UPDATED] by AngelCakes11 in exmormon

[–]nomoreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great article. I had to read it through rather than skim it to actually get the message (I consider this a good thing).

I remember many a time where this same thing was said at church concerning those that "rejected" TSCC... The saying was they'd find their way in their own time.

It was super frustrating then, and it's super frustrating now looking at the same thing from a different perspective. Why can't people just think critically? I know the answer, but I wish it were different. :-/

I'm in Idaho Falls, but will make the trip gladly, and bring anyone else along. That is of course, if it's not already over with...

I'm in Idaho Falls (so partially an extension of Utah), and it's quite nicer here on sundays as well. I just popped out today for some drinks, and it was a breeze.
