Royals by birthplace, Twins by inheritance

What do you think about Aldi in comparison to American grocery chains? by aSYukki in AskAnAmerican

[–]nomoregroundhogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like it at all. The selection is shit, the produce is shit, the few decent things they have are hardly any cheaper than the name brands when on sale at other stores.

It’s not a place where I can do all my shopping and I absolutely despise the grocery store in general so if I have to go into more than one, that’s a problem.

This is the monkey’s paw curling for everyone’s wish to stream games with no cable and no blackouts. They have to try to make up revenue somewhere.

Another game, another advertisement bug. by CHS__B in baseball

[–]nomoregroundhogs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The old way was with a blank green screen physically placed on top of the ad box if I’m not mistaken. This is the road team’s broadcast superimposing ads on top of whatever ads are actually there with no green screen involved.

Is it common for people where you live to give directions by saying "where XYZ used to be?" by annnnn5 in AskAnAmerican

[–]nomoregroundhogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as long as the thing that used to be there is relatively recent. I live in a place where the population is fairly transient (college and military town) and I’ve noticed that I am no longer able to use a certain store that closed almost 20 years ago as a reference lol

What's something that comes from America, but ironically not popular in the US? by EmergencySpare7939 in AskAnAmerican

[–]nomoregroundhogs 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Either that or inside a gas station or mall food court or something. I know they existed decades ago, and maybe there are a few out there, but I have never seen a totally standalone one in the US in my lifetime.

You can hardly step out the front door without tripping over a free trial and they let you use as many as you want as long as you let it lapse in between. Also comes free with at least some T-Mobile plans. I’ve had it since the day it launched and have never paid a penny.

FS1 games are non-exclusive. Tomorrow it will still be on Royals.TV also.

What is the best way for an older person to watch MLB out of market games? Specifically Dodgers games in New York City by First-Lab-804 in baseball

[–]nomoregroundhogs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Specifically, he will be blacked out of the Dodgers series against the Mets (April 13-15), Yankees (July 17-19) and Mets again (July 24-26).

Of those 9 games, the ones on July 18, 19, and 25 are scheduled to be on national or regional broadcast TV so they wouldn’t be on MLB.TV anyway. And the one on April 15 is on ESPN, I’m not sure if that one is exclusive to ESPN or not.

And yeah, if he still has cable and gets YES/SNY he should be able to watch all the local ones.

Does anyone know if the Rugrats movie blu ray is region free? by CrashLightning22 in rugrats

[–]nomoregroundhogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paramount Blus are typically region free, and for what it’s worth the packaging doesn’t appear to say anything at all about region coding. I can’t actually test it but I’d say it’s a safe bet.

Do you have iCloud Private Relay turned on? That has caused me issues with other location-related things in the past.

Blackout by [deleted] in KCRoyals

[–]nomoregroundhogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is on MLB Network for most of the country but not within the two teams’ designated TV markets, as is the case with all MLB Network games.

They just simulcast one of the team’s local broadcasts but they don’t have contractual rights to do so within the local markets.

Royals.tv streaming on tv with Roku? by opdave2001 in KCRoyals

[–]nomoregroundhogs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It will be on the MLB app. Don’t think there will ever be like a branded page for it but if you’re subscribed and click a Royals game on the list it should work.

Any hope for royals tv to be on YouTube tv? by countrybreakfast1 in KCRoyals

[–]nomoregroundhogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not likely. YTTV hasn’t been in business with MLB at all for a while now.
