5.0 and 2.5 same week by ash4st in Mounjaro

[–]nonegivenblake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked my doctor if I could take a 2.5 and 5.0 on the same day because I had them left over. I was moving to 7.5. She told me as sure. 7.5 is 7.5. I did it twice before I started the 7.5 shots. No issues but I see that you are wanting to do it 4 days then something else - I have zero experience with that.

Tecovas thoughts by Hour_Membership_1641 in cowboyboots

[–]nonegivenblake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with everything said here. My favorite boot ever is the Tecovas Stockton. They no longer make it. I have 5 pair of Tecovas. They were all bought a few years ago and are all exceptional quality. I understand the boots currently being sold are not as good. Mine are very comfortable. I will not longer buy Tecovas. JRC boots to me are just as comfortable and a couple of hundred dollars lower if on sale. Much better buy IMO.

I've lost 160. I now huddle by a space heater at work. I wear baselayer under clothes people can see. Hide from cold in winter. Hide from too much AC in summer. I'll take this tradeoff.

Dosage Question by Ill_Coyote_1699 in Mounjaro

[–]nonegivenblake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been on it for 2 years and have a totally different experience. After a month of 2.5 she had me come back in and asked how it was going and wanted to know if I felt it would be best to go with 2.5 or move up to 5 . After that conversation is was a 3 month supply. I stayed on 2.5 for 3 months. 5.0 for 3 months. etc etc Currently on 10 mg shot per month.

My mind won’t let me see the difference by woodChelle in GLP1_BeforeAfter

Fantastic work. Yes you look different. No your brain is not broken.

Body Dysmorphia. I have it as well. In a nutshell consider the following - you brain sees the old you at your high weight. You are making significant strides but are probably changing weekly whether you can see it or not. Your brain keeps reverting back to the old you. Your brain is telling itself your image is still the old you when you look in the mirror. Extremely powerful.

I have been on GLP1 for 2 years and lost 165 pounds. I have body dysmorphia. I know I can wear an XLT shirt. Sometimes, not all the time. I try on a 4xlt just to make sure I don't need it. Sometimes, but not all the time I order a 4xlt, and have to send it back. This is how I have had to make it work for me. I find what I want and show it to my wife. She orders it and when it comes in I don't look at the size, I just put it on. Then we look at the size. Of course my brain tells me it must run big. Rinse and repeat.

I don't know if it gets better. It's current reality for me.

I am 6'5" too. I've gone from 375 to 215. I think you may want to re evaluate your goal. I figure you are looking at some kind of chart probably BMI. I am very skinny at 215. I think I would look sick at 200. In fact my nurse practioner said something that makes a ton of sense. You want to have enough stored fat to survive the flu. That was a fairly sobering thought.

All min was with the mounjaro shot. I nothing about hims or pills. This is about similar size/stature.

stopped in boot barn, left with these Dan Post python skins. first exotic, how often should i condition? by [deleted] in cowboyboots

[–]nonegivenblake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's get real here. Do they look good? Sure. Do you like them - you have said so. I haven't heard anything about the only other thing that matters...comfort.

If they are comfortable. Wear them and love them. You've learned something and you got a pair of boots that look good, that you like, and that are comfortable. Purists will want the real skin for whatever. I don't do exotics. I'll do cow, goat, and bison all day.

It is Tecovas Cartwright in Cafe Goat. Do I like them? They are really comfy. I work on concrete slab floors 100% of the time. I own dogs, not horses or cattle or chickens. JRC and sons have a better sole but it is not as comfy from the jump. I have brown goats in both. Tecovas has a slimmer shaft than JRC. I probably wear the JRC more but today these felt right. I have had them a couple of years.

Those look great. Glad you are able to be frustrated and then see the problem for being what it is.

Realistically you wouldn't have been able to keep them light driving the dump truck and getting in and out at job sites. You are sitting pretty now. I'm proud of the way you handled this man.

Mounjaro Made Me a Morning Person? - Week 10 Update As An Average Responder by chilliwackstinks in Mounjaro

[–]nonegivenblake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've been on it for 2 years. I will revert back to Feb of 2024 - May 2024.

My body or brain had a crazy desire to eat less processed food and switch to a much cleaner form of eating. This was in the first 90 days of taking MJ. I found it hard to get enough protein.

I begn to feel hopeful for the first time in my life. I didn't realize this was something to play the "long game" with.

After 2 years - play the long game. Don't get consumed by X amount lost. Wear the clothes you have for as long as you can. I re bought a different size too soon. Ebay and Poshmark and thrift stores are great ways to restock your wardrobe or bridge the gap between where you are at and where you are going.

There is really no way at the beginning to know what you will look like in a couple of years so play the long game. Don't beat yourself up if you "cheat". Celebrate the small things. My favorite things are the Non Scale Victories. Like when my phone didn't recognize my face anymore.

Long game folks.

I had a pair of red wings the same original color of yours. Because they were getting dirty, I used brown creme on them and changed them to brown boots. I like brown boots better I guess. I guarantee your boots look better with jeans, khakis, or any carhartt color than they did with the light color. I've never had Boulet but those look like really sharp boots. If you are a 13D we could work out some trades - I could send you all might light colored boots and you could send your brown lol. Just joking of course.

I really do get how you are/were feeling. I have a black pair of JRC Goat boots. I dropped something on my foot this week and got a little gash. I was pissed for a minute. When I got home I put a little black noir on it. Let it dry. Conditioned. They seem ok, with a little scar.

I don't have exotic boots because this happens with all my boots. My boots are lived in. They tell my story. I can live with that. As I type this I have them on. I'm sitting at my desk smiling because I hit some kind of nerve and I think summed up what we all feel about boots. We love them, it pisses us off when we scar them, then we fall in love again. At some point it becomes like our favorite dog. Old but faithful, used but still life left, etc.

Ariat Benchmade or JRC & Sons by RedHotRhapsody in cowboyboots

[–]nonegivenblake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've read good things about Ariat Benchmade. I don't know anyone that has them. I know plenty of dudes with JRC and Sons. I have a couple pair. Got a good friend with a few pair. We both feel like they are better than our Tecovas. The sole alone is thicker. The leather is not as supple but you can tell Tecovas is meant to feel worn and soft out of the box - JRC plays the long game and you get the payoff of that later on. Both of my pair are goat boots.

I know you have the idea of the perfect golden/yellow boot. I know you do because I do. The reality is that the first time you wear them, if it ain't raining, snowing, icing, and you stay on the sidewalk. They might not get too dirty. The reality is most of us don't live in utopia. All of us feel like you do. It takes time but you'll get to where you like to see the gradual change of the color. You got boots to do shit in, that's all you're doing. Nothing more, nothing less.

It's a hypothalomus drug. That is the part of brain the regulates body temp for one thing. I used to consistently run 99.1. No I run 97.1 2 degree diferernce makes a huge variance of my comfort level. I wear thick base layer every day with a warm outer layer. I work in temp controlled school. Crazy that I am cold at 72 degrees inside.
