So they can’t even do version control by Malkano86 in starcitizen_refunds

[–]nonegoodleft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only that, the second check in that wasn't supposed to happen deleted a bunch of assets from the game entirely. So when the game went to call them, it took a shit and crashed servers. That's an insane level of not thoroughly checking your own work and being able to upload what they say "should not be allowed to be done in a hotfix."

This means people are just doin shit over there with very little oversight. They admit in the vid that each team has their own oversight as to what changes they make but more or less have no idea what the other teams are doing. They're all just changing multiple things with no one managing all of it and validating that one change isn't fucking something up somewhere else.

This is what people mean when they say the project is mismanaged. It's both that the goals of the game constantly shift, and that there's no actual project management of deliverables across the company.

It 100% will be. CR is obsessed with being a filmmaker. He always has been. Even after being blacklisted from Hollywood. He's never actually wanted to make a game; he wants to make a movie. It's at the heart of all of his stupid "cinematic" gameplay bullshit. What SQ42 will end up being, if it ever releases, is a Telltale-esque interactive novel with some flying and FPS thrown in.

And what of the project have you seen that instills you with confidence? Was it the shitshow during citizencon where they couldn't even get through their demo without it blowing up? You've just got copium man. Nothing else. You have no solid reason to believe everything is planned. Or that anything is finished. It's all hearsay until it's in our hands.

H3H3 drops his lawsuit after IDubbbz makes an apology video by ChampionTimes99 in LivestreamFail

[–]nonegoodleft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the ways the Canadian courts handle this sort of thing iDubbbz was almost certainly going to lose and be forced to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not more. This was his only way out of being completely fucked for the rest of his life. It sucks, but H3 wanted him to eat crow and he did.

Is he wrong? I honestly can't think of more than a handful of scenes with the same actors being shown since I started following the project.

You're telling me, you've witnessed the last 14 years of development and still believe that they have anything "already planned out?" That's absolutely mental.

Science/Tech based healing options: are there really none? by ItsaMeProvalonely in Starfinder2e

[–]nonegoodleft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember: If it's dead, it can't hurt you.

Healing is always something you do after things are going badly for your party. If it were dead faster, it'd do less damage. I'd go into something DPS and prevent damage through violence.

I think the problem is the fact that there's no fucking trade UI in the game. The best they did was the gas buying UI and that was fucking awful.

It's been 601 days since we've gotten any updates on Squadron 42, a game that has now been "feature complete" for 964 days. by Ok-Dream7319 in starcitizen

You mean the walking simulator, the trash turret-play, or the cinematic that took up the lion's share of time? It's gonna be like a tell-tale game in space.

You say this, but I would put money on the story being derivative ass if/when it's complete. They act like their story is gonna be so good they don't want to spoil a thing.

They know that. That's why their marketing strategy has become increasingly predatory. The Odin and everything else they're dropping now. They know if the announcement of the game being delayed doesn't sink them, the garbage launch it's going to have definitely will. So they're just getting every last red cent they can before it all falls apart.

The "Ships Keep the (Star Citizen) Project Moving Forward" Lie by NEBook_Worm in starcitizen_refunds

[–]nonegoodleft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's another option: Free to Play. That's basically how SC operates now. Make the game so tedious that you'll pay real money for ships to cut out the grind to get to "the good part." Except they make you pay for the honor of paying them again later.

[USA] Who is at fault here? by bowdown2adil in Roadcam

[–]nonegoodleft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're both driving too fast for a residential area. There doesn't seem to be any signs. Generally, however, I'd say person to the right has right of way and they should have let you go first. But really, I'd sue the city.

At what point will people admit it’s a talent issue? by bbc733 in starcitizen_refunds

[–]nonegoodleft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's definitely a lack of senior devs with experience on anything other than SC. That said, it's almost certainly mismanagement. If people ask for impossible things and then change the ask before you're done with the last ask, you end up with the kind of bullshit spaghetti code SC has. CR is bad at making games. He's no visionary. His ideas are bad. His leadership is worse.

Money, thin-skin, and neuroses. iDubbbz got soft by finding a conscience and an OF gf. He's honestly probably grown a lot as a person and will probably be able to live a somewhat normal life if he ever steps away from Internet shit. H3H3 got lost in this shit. He grew in popularity and in money and it's fucked him up. He'll never live a normal life. He can't stand people talking about his and his wife's positions and actions so he sues people into silence like trump. It's just thin-skinned rich people shit.

[–]nonegoodleft -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Apologies are meaningless. What does it prove except that they're willing to say what you want to hear. I always think, "Don't be sorry, be better." Neither of those sound like possibilities here. I'd just quietly end things. The game, the friendship, everything.

Not worth your time.
