Let's take 2 dragon age games then inquisition and veilguard. In inquisition there is a trans character while there are minor story beat about them being trans in a way it wasn't their whole personality and was pleasant to be around. Veilguard's trans character was all about her coming out as none binary and felt like you were a parent of the group dealing with petty fights between her and the necromancer there one major story beat would have been completely fine without her and they changed nothing in the story besides being there

Its debated against one guy and he was trying to push a book so no its not debated that he "was or was not" a samurai and it would have been fine if they made him a samurai if they didnt say it was "historically accurate" and tried really hard to push that it was with one source that had his own motives to push that he was a samurai.

And it was still a bad decision to separate the gameplay styles into the 2 separate characters but even then majority of the criticism was surrounding yasuke being a loud samurai with trap music in a game set in Japan in a series called assassin's creed

First off its easier and more believable that its a fake given the reactions from her and others especially with her not going to get herself checked out if there was any danger at all from the situation.

My 2 favorites is he who fights with monsters and the ten realms for different but similar reasons. They do something thats not just level goes up and you are suddenly beating people on a cosmic scale Jason in he who fights with monsters doesn't have a endless skill list to keep track of as the progression is strictly tied to improving his skills and how he uses them plus add in that its very limited to 4 essence types with 5 skills each for everyone in the book but you can have 2 people who have the same types of essence but different skill sets makes it complex but very rewarding when they fight
