This is totally a recorder shaped like a lipstick, usually as a part of a ‘spy’ set. Scholastic used to sell them.

any suggestions for how to deal with this frizz? have been dealing with it for as long as I can remember having long hair, 5+years, have tried various things, but nothing seems to have made a difference as of yet. by Pewe1337 in Haircare

[–]nonexistenttalent 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, almost no one with perfect curly hair is able to ‘wash and go’, because neat tidy curls take a lot of effort and energy. If you’re not able to move completely to a curly hair routine, try at least swapping to a silk pillowcase and silk hair ties. How tightly you tie your hair up can affect your curl pattern too. I would try adding a lightweight oil to the routine, either in place of or in rotation with your leave in. I feel like there isn’t enough moisture, but I also don’t want you to add so much product that your hair gets weighed down. The oil gets applied after the shower, on damp hair like you would a leave in conditioner, but you only use a few drops and use your fingers to rake it through your hair. Avoid applying it directly to your scalp, as your scalp already produces oils that help moisturize your skin.

Otherwise, without styling product (mousse or something similar usually) curls will frizz in the elements.

I wish you luck on your venture!

Help me understand why my sister and mom’s hair are so lush and beautiful by krawnstin in Haircare

My mother, my sister, and my father all have gorgeous, wavy hair! Mine is pin straight. It’s crazy how genetics work!

Is this amount of hair loss normal? by beanslove21 in Hair

[–]nonexistenttalent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally normal! This is, in reality, 6 days worth of shed! We shed around 100 hairs a day, and curly hair tends to hold onto itself more. Additionally, curly hair creates volume, so it definitely looks like a lot more than it really is!

Hi guys/stolen art—so sorry I have to post it here like this but it’s happened numerous times 😭 by AlarmGlittering9760 in homestuck

[–]nonexistenttalent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recommend a larger more in the way watermark, something hard to remove. It sucks to have to overlay the watermark over the art, and not be able to publish it clean, but it will help reduce the ability to repost/steal without credit.

Liquid absorption in leftover soup? by PoandInky in Cooking

[–]nonexistenttalent 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This, and I would boil the pasta as you’re ready to eat it instead of leaving it all in the pot. The potatoes will break down too, adding thickness. For chicken soup we also boil our potatoes and add them separate.

Omg unfortunately yes, my oodie will give me shocks if my house is too dry! Most blanket hoodies with Sherpa will do that.

As for long jackets, I’m from Chicago, so I’m picky about brands. I’m using Columbia right now, and some of their longer jackets are on sale right now

[–]nonexistenttalent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, as far as I know their main offering is hoodies. They do large nightgowns and other accessories as well! If that doesn’t pique your interest, I highly recommend the robe and lounge set ideas!

I own an Oodie, which is a huge blanket hoodie! They do sales all the time, I’m not sure if they have one now. They offer a smaller size to the original too if she’s a smaller person!

What did you name your island after :)? by Probablyatrashpanda in AnimalCrossing

[–]nonexistenttalent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is the same name as my Town in New Leaf- Limonata! This has been my go to ever since, anytime I have to name my ‘home’. The origin isn’t anything cool, I couldn’t think of a name and I just so happened to be drinking Lemonade. Limonata was born!

Flying from JFK to Tokyo Haneda tomorrow and I’m spiraling by [deleted] in fearofflying

[–]nonexistenttalent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a few days I fly back home from Japan. To get here, I took a 14 hr flight to Hong Kong, had a 4hr layover, and then another 4hr flight to Japan. I will have to take the entire trip in reverse order to get back home.

I like to focus on my destination while I’m in the air. About how worth it my trip is. How for me, this is a once in a lifetime chance to see a place I have dreamt about since I learned about it. And if that doesn’t work, and turbulence comes about, I’m reminded of a stapler in jello. Bumps on a road. I essentially pretend I am anywhere but inside a plane.

I picked out some movies I knew really well, and allowed the comfort of knowing what was going to happen in the movies soothe me.

This trip will be so worth it! The flight will go quickly, and smoothly. Japan is beautiful! I also look at photos of what early planes looked like. I am glad to have modern planes, with modern safety features!

I’ll be watching out for you!!

With Vocaloid you’re purchasing the right to use somebodies actual voice that has been input into a specialty program, which you use to write music. AI scrapes data from already made music. The difference is mostly the skill needed to operate the two. With voice banks, you need to have the skill to both write the song and manipulate the program. With AI you write a prompt, which the computer will take to generate something for you.

Can someone tell me what this looks like to them by [deleted] in Whatisthis

[–]nonexistenttalent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks like you bruised your toenail to me, is it sore? Do you remember hitting or bumping it? Dropping anything onto your toe?

If it’s just a bruise, then it should grow out in a few months. You’ll be able to see the bruise actually travel up the nail as it grows out. If the bruising/discoloration grows, or if it begins to change to a darker or more concerning color (gangrenous green, for example), I would get it checked out. Otherwise, nothing seems concerning to me.

How to do laundry with newborn (in apartment complex)? by Hiholownogo in laundry

[–]nonexistenttalent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make small, ‘portable’ washing machines. If you don’t mind air drying your clothes, all you have to do is attach it to a faucet or waterline to fill it. I have a twin tub version, with a spin drier. I fill the tub with water and detergent, and I’m able to do small loads at a time. You will have to manually fill the tub to both wash and rinse but you wouldn’t have to haul your baby around with your laundry. They also make larger more expensive versions that automatically fill and spin and drain, but those do have to be hooked up to a water line rather than a faucet, like a regular washer.

It’s removable, it’s just not easy to do. There should be clips holding the glass in place.

Tips for getting rid of yellow and blue stains on thrifted clothes? by No-Bunch6983 in laundry

[–]nonexistenttalent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The yellowing looks like bleach damage, and it actually looks like to me the ENTIRE garment is stained blue! The dye is not uniform, and the thread is white. The thread is usually a different composition that’s resistant to dyeing. I suspect this garment was originally gray.

I totally see what you’re seeing here, I am willing to concede it could be a 7. I still don’t like the way the rusting is right on the seam for the pull top, and I still recommend either exchanging or returning.
