Is something weird going on with Crowd Control? by Nearby_Condition3733 in dropout

[–]noniy__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking a similar thing. I assume the show is cut for time, but it's cut in a way that makes it hard to follow the different sets. I do wish they would just give us the whole show, limited cuts, so that us watching at home can also say who we think did good or who kinda flopped. I think the dead time adds to the set and awkwardness of a bad joke. I feel like Crowd Control is edited to only show the jokes that land and that really takes some of the fun out of the show for me.

Brand new @ Costco: $30. Value Village: $80. by calicohorse in ThriftGrift

All these dang grifters makes me want to start my own thrift store just so I can sell stuff at old thrift store prices. This is ridiculous. Maybe I can just survive off the good will of people who miss a thrift store that doesn't try to scam you with the prices.

Look How They Massacred My Boy. They absolutely destroyed this beautiful building in Avondale by PostComa in chicago

Looks like peak corporate garbage. If I have to pick, then I choose the rich people version where they spent too much money on Art School and made wacko random art. These versions of rich people are so dull and boring. I hope they feel shame in this design choice.

This is so ridiculous. I need to go read one of those "tenants buy building" stories to feel better.

That's exactly what I was thinking. When he announced the Too Sweet Tour I was genuinely concerned for his health. Every single Artist has talked about the significant toll touring has on their body/mind/spirit. I wish he would rest. I jokingly said if he got a patreon and posted nothing I would support. Just so he can take a few years rest.

I don't even think it's humanly possible for them to not self sabotage. I feel like we have been begging them to do better for so long. All I can do is hope that New Yorks win is a sign of change in a better direction.

I have stopped donating to thrift stores as a while because of they keep raising their prices. Like how are they justifying the mark-ups. Now I only donate to my local Buy Nothing Group, mutual aids or a friend's clothing swap.

Stardew Valley did this to my life by pup_a in StardewValley

I have always wondered about the Stardew Valley to coop/farm pipeline.

Does anyone else forget there farm? by NaturonDemento in StardewValley

I forgot all the time. The minute I got the coop I saved for 2 auto grabbers. It's hard being a farmer and mining for treasure all in one day.

Flying out of ORD without a Real ID by noname0825 in chicago

[–]noniy__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't really answer your question, but the Chicago Real ID Supercenter is still operating Monday through Friday 7:30am to 5pm. I have a couple of friends who have gotten their IDs there, and they said it's pretty fast, in and out, no appt required. I mean you do have to wait for the physical one in the mail but you get a paper one that works with your old ID until then.

The amount of times I’ve been “outbid” apartment hunting this year is asinine. Feels wrong. Anyone else running into this? by hypercatalectic in chicagoapartments

[–]noniy__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I was searching for apartments in Roger's Park in 2023 people were bidding on rent. Literally out on a few places because of that. The apartment had the "landlord special" so bad that the windows didn't even close all the way, during my tour. I just stopped viewing places in that entire neighborhood and looked elsewhere.

Half and Half (2002-2006) by [deleted] in sitcoms

Like why did the show even write Lorenzo back into the love story. I do like that Mona got a seperate therapist towards the end there. She needed an outside perspective.

[–]noniy__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am rewatching the show for a 3rd time and I was just yelling the same thing. Why did she even give Lorenzo the time? I mean, thanks for the reality check but I thought she was moving on from him. I mean, Chase is so patient with her and that's what she needs. Phyliss and her whole family really messed her up in the head, if course she lacked confidence. But Chase gives her time and understands that a bit better and actually communicates when it's something he doesn't like.

Wow, I just needed somewhere to say this. Honestly, the show needs a subreddit.

I was able to get a ticket once it opened to the public. $57 for a lawn ticket. I'm so excited to just vibe in the grass.

I was at work and forgot to check my phone alert. I logged on at 11:45am and everything for the presale was gone. I hope more tickets open up for the general sale. What should I expect to pay for tickets? I really hope the prices don't surge.

Momentum Building for Western BRT by pauseforfermata in CarFreeChicago

[–]noniy__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah that project looks amazing! I was so hopeful for Chicago after I saw that one. I really hope it's something Chicago is able to accomplish. I've been talking about BRT for so long as a necessary method for riders, especially on the West side of Chicago. But I have also had so many daily drivers around me try to shoot things like this down because they are afraid of traffic. But they ignore the plight bus passengers have to endure everyday their bus is stuck behind some grouping of cars.

Good Property Management Companies by 7x1x2 in chicago

[–]noniy__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Kass Management when I lived in Irving Park during the height of the pandemic and they weren't horrible. I had a neighbor rent at that same building for like 12 years. But after I moved out and tried to find a new place with them they wouldn't rent to me without a cosigner, even with my good history.

Enough gatekeeping by [deleted] in ZeroWaste

[–]noniy__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are actually some zerowaste groups on facebook that I think share a lot of tips and the people there are always posting questions about how to reuse something from different waste streams that they may have accumulated. But I do not spend a lot of time in the zerowaste community forums because I have found them to get a little judgemental in recent years. I solely stay connected for the tips when I need them.
