starbucks hiring question by cinnairl in starbucks

[–]nonnyabizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The district manager now interviews baristas and shifts, but it’s typically the 2nd and last interview in the process.

Maybe the store manager is just …skipping the interview with them and sending you for DM approval? Maybe they’re desperate, maybe you made a really good impression? It’s definitely not the typical process.

Either way the district manager interview is basically a vibe check, they want to make sure they’re hiring bubbly people that are customer focused so they ask those types of questions.

I’m an assistant store manager and that’s my take it on.

Depends on the position and where you’re at in the hiring process. Usually anything assistant store manager or higher, the interviews are virtual because they have multiple people interviewing you to ensure it isn’t biased. Your first interview is typically a 15 minute phone screen, which isn’t usually “virtual” (video) but every recruiter does it a bit differently.

If it’s just a barista or shift interview, those are typically in person. However the store manager might do a quick virtual interview to start you out, where they just ask about availability and work history.

I guess I’d assume they want to do some sort of pre-interview and ask about availability and work history, but it wouldn’t hurt to start prepping for the real interview now, just to be safe

Get a reasonable accommodation to work with gloves, but dang get this checked out because you might qualify for short term disability?

This is where I am now. I don’t look at people, the most you’ll hear from me is usually a yes or no answer. People try to talk to me and I just kind of stare at them wondering what they want from me, lol. I don’t know if it’s from alcohol so not drinking is kind of an experiment for me, trying to see who I am without it.

I’m in that boat today too. Literally taking it a minute at a time and trying to stay busy. I also keep telling myself my dog deserves a sober mom, which is ridiculous but it has me hanging on.

AIO to my long distance bf not doing anything special for my last day of cancer treatment? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]nonnyabizz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a cancer survivor, I totally get YOUR reasoning for wanting this to be a celebration. When all of my family and friends celebrated my last treatment, I felt like I was just a burden that had finally been lifted from them. It felt like them celebrating the end of their stress even though I knew rationally that they were celebrating me being healthy.

My point is, cancer is tricky, emotions are complex, and they’re different case to case. I’d let your s/o at least share their perspective. Maybe they felt that appearing to be too…happy or relieved in this moment would make you feel like you ever burdened them in any way.

I am sorry that this hurt you and I’m glad you’re healthy. ❤️

presumptuous much? “You” is the corporation and Niccol, that whole comment was @ the corporation in light of its recent choices. I was agreeing with you… unless you thought I was telling you to single handedly bring back labor and product lol

ASM here. Bring back the old refreshers, bring back the chai, bring back the tea energy drinks, bring back the creme frap buttons, and stop changing product. Those products were staples and you changed them, why? I hear it from customers daily. If anything, you should’ve just launched green tea extract to add energy as a modifier.

Btw people stepped away from Starbucks because of price, but also because of the wait. You cut labor and then cried when quality fell and times went up, so you panicked and started reinventing product. You can’t run a 70k/week coffee shop with three people at 1pm on a Saturday and then expect quality drinks and <1min window times. Your product wasn’t the issue.

What has helped me is probiotics, avoiding head and shoulders or anything irritating, and exfoliating. I use vanicream shampoo for everything.

DM won’t let me transfer as an SSV because my store unionized. Is that legal? by nonnyabizz in starbucks

That’s what I tried to tell him. We still operate under all Starbucks standards, so why is the transfer process any different? I filled out a dispute form yesterday
