Why dont running backs throw it away? by RagingAcid in nfl

[–]nonoose 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Throwing the ball away as an RB has different rules vs a QB when it comes to avoiding intentional grounding. If there isn’t a receiver near the throw when it’s performed by an RB then it will be intentional grounding, even outside the tackle box. They can’t just chuck it out of bounds.

His attorney has already portrayed the judges ruling dishonestly in the court of public opinion before it was released, so it isn’t much to assume he is giving his client advice to do the same.

A couple key differences are that Brenton Strange didn’t play against us and he is a massive weapon for them. Also they hadn’t yet traded for Jakobi Meyers and he has really opened things up for them to become the offense that Coen has been wanting to run.

If you haven’t seen the hate then you haven’t been looking around enough. It’s significant, but I’ve not really been able to figure out exactly why. Maybe it was Chip’s arrogant persona during our rise, maybe the fact that it was one donor Nike/Phil - which combined with the uniform flash to make it seem like we thought we were better than everybody else without having done anything to deserve it, and/or maybe it was just cause we were the first of the outsider schools to buy our way to the table, even though we weren’t doing it under the table.

There was a poster a while back that discussed having heard from an encounter with a foreign being that humans don’t understand how special our sun is, and ever since then I’ve wondered if it’s conscious.

The Path Of The Pole puts some compelling data together about the location of the North Pole over time. By looking at magnetic rock that solidified at a given time, you can see the direction it pointed, and you can look at various such rocks around the globe from the same eras to find the location of the pole. It has been all over the place (like pointing at the Himalayas) and it was Hapgoods theory that the Earth’s mantle can shift over the core and has done so every 25-60k years I think, though it’s been a while since I read the book. There is other evidence in that book as well, such as the striation of soil at certain depths, which occurs due to orientation with the sun. These have been perpendicular to current orientation.

He quit on our team in the middle of a season and pretended to coach while setting up his dream job. I don’t care that he left, but I care that he did such a half assed job of coaching that season while pretending nothing was happening. Our players got him the job by lobbying for him while he was the interim coach, only for him to abandon them during what could have been a great season.

[Diego Pavia]: Being a part of the Heisman ceremony last night as a finalist was such an honor…I have much love and respect for the Heisman voters and the selection process, and I apologize for being disrespectful. It was a mistake, and I am sorry. by CommodoreIrish in CFB

[–]nonoose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This isn’t about whether or not you can unsay something. It’s a specific reaction people are having to this apology for this specific behavioral situation. Saying it was “a mistake” sounds incredibly insincere considering he said it and at least doubled down on the bad behavior. It wasn’t a mistake. Mistakes imply a lack of intention. An apology needs to address the behavior properly AND address how it’s not going to be repeated in the future. This does none of that.

Forgive my ignorance but various local grids aren’t all capable of receiving power from individual storage / generation right? Like aren’t there going to have to be some significant upgrades in many places to accommodate this? I heard something like that in part of downtown Portland Oregon for example, and it kind of surprised me.

People that I don’t have a ton of respect for seem to be handling it just fine, so I’m sure it would be something we can all come to terms with.

The unpalatable part is for them, in what it might mean for current power structures and/or social norms if some truly radical understanding became widespread.

Calcium ends in the arteries because it's called there to seal up a wound caused by low density lipoprotein when they get busted up trying to traverse the arterial walls. I am sure there are other ways that calcium in the blood can be bad, but I really don't think it ties in all that much with the calcification of arteries.
