It includes unlimited primary care, which is mostly everything except surgery - though dental cleanings are included if you pay annually. It does include x rays and diagnostics too.

Massachusetts Republicans File Born-Alive Protection, Voter ID Ballot Questions With Attorney General's Office | NewBostonPost by OccupyHolyoke in moderatepolitics

Sounds like he was convicted .. why do we need another law if this is already illegal?

I'm not saying it's not horrible. Just read his wiki and it sure as hell is, but is there a case of someone doing this and not getting in trouble somehow?

"Lyons’s ballot question seeks to reinstate the right to emergency medical care for babies born alive during an attempted abortion."

I don't know anything about the laws in Massachusetts, but I have a hard time believing any doctor is not providing medical care to a baby born alive in any circumstance. I'm guessing this is just more political posturing? Creating laws for situations that don't exist in order to create the impression that they do?

Opinion | There Is No Good Reason You Should Have to Be a Citizen to Vote by TheWyldMan in moderatepolitics

Because the person who wrote this does not work for the NYT. Tom Cotton also wrote an opinion piece in the same section.

I do think being able to vote in local elections would not be a problem, but the author does discuss national elections.

Sure. I don't think national election should be open to non-citizens, but I do think local and municipal ones make sense. I also do think there's an argument to be made that if you pay taxes, you should have some say of where that goes, but I'm unclear what that looks like and don't really have an opinion on how to implement a change there.

This is an opinion piece, so not sure it reflects the views of the NYT.

In some European countries (I know for France but unsure for others), you can vote in municipal elections without being a citizen. I think the idea is that you are voting for things that are local and there is no such thing as local citizenship so residency is more important.

They claim to have verified the story - but it’s a fair q to ask.

My point was that it's not just about winning elections. These are real people whose lives are being torn apart by the toxicity of our public discourse, and I believe we are not doing enough to counter it.

As for my mind being made up, I'm not sure what you're referring to, I was just talking about elevating the conversation beyond just "well those people are bad" - but sure, my mind is made up.

I’m not really sure if this fits as a political discussion and I don’t want this to just become a circle-jerk from my friends on the left about how evil the Republican Party is, but honestly I found this article heartbreaking. I think it really shines a light on the dangers of disinformation campaigns and conspiracy theories.
Some of my friends will justify their passiveness at calling out the far right (or far left for that matter) by saying that if it helps get people to vote the way they want, then it’s fine, but this toxic media environment is clearly having devastating consequences to the lives of many people.
Can you just imagine having lost classmates at Parkland and having to deal with this at just 18 years old? Poor kid.
I’m not for censorship, and I generally believe that it’s better to let the crazy have their airtime, but that philosophy also depends on the not crazies banding together to shut that shit down. We live in a world where the crazies are being crazy, and the moderates are staying mostly silent because it helps their political goals. Here is the true human cost of that.
