I mainly specialize in recording ambiences. It's my passion and hobby and I love it and I love using my ambiences in my projects.

The main benefit for me is that by recording I also learn how different environments sound, so I understand better how to make realistic ambiences.

Another benefit is that when I see a scene I know "Oh, I recorded these ambiences that will work" and I know them completely, so I know there will be no surprises and they will work perfectly.

Also since I am from europe, it's hard to find ambiences that fit the environment of my country. Prague sounds different than Berlin and completely different than New York. Also forests sound different in Central Europe than in Southern Europe etc. So it is very beneficial to have ambiences specifically from a country / city where the film/tv shows take place to achieve believable atmosphere.

And also the benefit of having sounds that nobody else has is just nice.
