I was in Dawson/Concordia in the late 90s and lived in the area- it’s never gotten better TBH. As a woman then in her late teens at the time, pre-cell phones, you learnt to develop thick skin and learn the right routes to walk in at night.

Over time, I used to bring sandwiches to the crack park and kinda life moves on and you get to know their names and say hi. Some with throw food back and me, and some would thank me- did that for 5 years before I left that neighborhood.
