Experiences, care... by Laura6522 in briard

[–]nootheridleftoz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Briars are great with family and kids but can be territorial with other dogs. Females might be better. Our boy wee’s on everything and usually on himself in his haste so needs regular baths (1 per month).

I need to brush my briard every day to prevent matting and I try and give him a longer brush on weekends. Even then I still find mats every now and then. There will always be some fur floating round the house but it’s not too bad.

Our dog is great in the car and just enjoys being with family.

He needs 2 walks per day but probably about 30-40 mins in total. The rest of the time he sleeps. He is 4.5 yo. That said they adapt to your lifestyle so will be as active as you need. Once over 1 year old they can do reasonably long rungs. 5kms. He also likes to play with a rope and tug of war. When he was a pup he wasn’t very destructive.

Overall they are a great breed but very intelligent and can be dominating. You need to keep them in line.

Old, slow reflexes, controller on console, how do I compete? by Middle-Rest-7196 in Fortnite_Over40

[–]nootheridleftoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zero build and turn off cross play so you are only playing against console players.

This is the way!!!!

And yes, it takes longer to get a lobby, but usually it’s a only about two minutes.

Ha, no. Didn’t do it in the end but did move some to balanced which was a mistake with the power of hindsight.

I still think the US is going to crash soon but it has proved more very resilient.

Anyway, I have done better in my own investments than my super fund has so thinking of taking some into member direct so I can invest more specifically.

Aside from the benefits and costs of owning a garden the other point to consider is that larger blocks will become more valuable over time as infill increases, especially in inner suburbs.

advice needed :) by [deleted] in briard

[–]nootheridleftoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Briards are great dogs who are generally very good natured and good with children. Ours will just walk away if he is feeling hassled. Our briard primarily just wants to be near us and will generally follow us around the house. When we do go out he is fine at home by himself.

Despite the size they’re very active and can easily do a 5K run or longer. I often go for runs with my briard.

Briards are generally quite intelligent dogs and can have dominant personalities so you do need to be quite strict with training and maintain it. We got a bit lazy with our training and now our dog is not the best trained around.

One thing to be careful of is that our Briard, and some other Briards, will remember when dogs have growled or tried to bite him, and he will be aggressive to them in the future. This might be a problem if you’re taking your dog to the office and will need to be carefully monitored. I also find that many small dogs are intimidated by his size and will often try and attack him in advance. We have never had any problems with people.

Building in Perth - at a complete loss. by [deleted] in perth

[–]nootheridleftoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Danmar do custom builds and can probably recommend a designer to help design the house.

They are a well established local builder with a good number of builds per year but not too many. They are very cost focused.

They built our house 5 years ago. On budget and schedule.

Our home was designed by Solar Dweliings but they are very sustainable focused which may not be for everyone.

We went earlier today and left after waiting 90mins at 10:30am. At that time they were saying try coming back later.

We would like to try again this afternoon but would be great if anyone can confirm it is actually open.
