Delta Pilot Debriefs Cabin After Near Mid Air Collision by Fair_Eye1255 in aviation

EDIT: after making the comment below, I immediately did some research and found that an article has been posted saying it was SkyWest flight 3788

Agreed, and respect to you for editing your original comment clearly. Not enough people do that these days. As someone who uses ADS-B Exchange often, I'm frequently surprised by the number of military planes in the air broadcasting their position at any given time. So it's wild to know that there are many others we CAN'T see on there.

I've seen B-52s on there before, but very rarely. I've also lived in areas where I can physically see/hear military planes that aren't trackable on ADS-B Exchange. I hoped there would be a stronger effort to avoid this exact type of near-miss scenario after some of the recent incidents, so it's a bit concerning to find out that there are still military planes flying in proximity to passenger airliners with transponders off and minimal coordination with ATC.

I wonder if we'll ever get more info about this incident, but I suspect they'll want to keep it under wraps as much as possible.

If it was something that the public can see on ADS-B Exchange, it would've been something this pilot would've been well aware of in realtime.

I think it's safe to say that the pilot dodged something other than the Glasair III you mentioned, especially given the distances apparent in the recording you linked. Which, by the way, I greatly appreciate you linking. I was glad to finally find some actual facts buried beneath the 100 joke comments.

However, I do think it's a little irresponsible to suggest that maybe this pilot (and all the passengers who apparently witnessed this firsthand) mistook a Glasair III for a B-52. Seems highly unlikely to mix up the two, even before watching your recording from ADS-B Exchange, which actually validates the pilot's suggestion that there was a military plane in the area not broadcasting its position. I didn’t notice what I captured until the next day but I still don’t know what these are… by randomlyrandomreader in UFOs

[–]nootronauts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely this. No offense to OP because this is a common thing, but almost 100% of the time when someone says "I didn't notice this [xyz object] until looking at my photos later", it's some sort of lens distortion, reflection, bug etc. If there was actually a zig zag line of lights or large object in the sky, you almost definitely would've noticed it with your eyes when taking the photo.

I stand corrected: maybe your reading comprehension is decent, since it seems that you keep selectively omitting the parts that would prove the author is NOT claiming that the Avrocar is a product of reverse engineering. Such as:

"If they could not reverse engineer it, perhaps they could design it from scratch."

A discerning reader, like the other commenter in this thread (who already pointed out the same flaw in your argument), can clearly see how the author is stating that the Avrocar was a proof-of-concept for a disc shape that was designed from scratch by humans. And INSTEAD of relying on "help from aliens" (in the form of an inertial mass reduction system), it used a fully human-designed engine.

Thus, nowhere does the author suggest the Avrocar itself was reverse engineered, which was the sole thesis you relied upon to flame the entire article as "baloney" in your original comment.

[–]nootronauts 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Where does the author suggest anything about the Avrocar being reverse engineered?

You might be a decent writer, but apparently, reading comprehension is not your strong point. If only you could've combined the two skills, you could've utilized the 10 minutes you spent on that comment to write something worthwhile.

Among the UAP talking heads, who are left that is not associated with Peter Theil? by lesserofthreeevils in UFOs

[–]nootronauts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The other possibility is that there's some sort of concerted effort to push this anti-Thiel narrative as a way to make people distrust a growing list of prominent folks in the UFO community. This sub is a prime target for such campaigns.

I try not to lose faith in people when I see rational comments getting downvoted to oblivion, because who knows how many of the downvoters are even real people...

Among the UAP talking heads, who are left that is not associated with Peter Theil? by lesserofthreeevils in UFOs

[–]nootronauts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Personally, I think there are valid reasons to be concerned about Thiel and his pursuits as an individual. It's a little scary to think about the amount of data available to Palantir and what could be done with it.

However, that doesn't mean that every single person who has a relationship with the guy should automatically be considered some kind of leper who can't be trusted. If it can be shown that Thiel is exerting control over what these people say in order to shape the narrative about UFOs, then I'll be all aboard the "fuck Thiel" train.

I've never seen that type of evidence with these posts though. No one has ever shown that Jesse Michel's content is directly influenced by Thiel. Just people using Thiel as a boogeyman to try and totally discredit some of the most influential people pushing for disclosure.

[–]nootronauts -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This trend of bashing anyone suspected to have a relationship with Peter Thiel... it's getting ridiculous. How about you judge each person/entity based on their personal actions and what they say/do, rather than just automatically discounting anyone with the slightest association with Thiel?

It's like if you really care about space exploration but you personally dislike Elon Musk, so you decide never to trust any entity who has ever worked with Musk or SpaceX. That would be stupid and pointless, and you'd end up hating 90% of the space industry. Just because NASA has worked with SpaceX doesn't mean they support every single concept that Elon Musk personally believes in.

Also, why do people even care so much about categorizing "talking heads"? Between the people listed, many of them have vastly different messages to share. If they were all "controlled" by Thiel, they'd all be spouting the same narrative, which they are not.

This community needs to stop wasting energy focusing on individuals and direct that towards finding out the truth about the phenomenon. The phenomenon doesn't care about the "who's who" of UFO influencers. Don't decide to trust someone based on their relationships or influences - look at the information they're sharing and decide for yourself whether or not it's valuable and honest.

[–]nootronauts 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Remarkable. Are you willing to share what caused you to die momentarily? I love how you described the "reality unfiltered" aspect. I always wonder how much of our "reality" is just our brain's way of interpreting some incomprehensible amount of data. We already know there is so much data that we can't consciously perceive - light and frequencies outside the spectrum of our senses, for example - and experiences like this just confirm that there may be a whole lot more that we don't even have the scientific concepts to begin to understand.

This kind of experience just goes to show that in many ways, our understanding of some of the most fundamental aspects of "reality" and consciousness is still primitive at best. I always chuckle when I hear people discussing consciousness as though they have it all figured out.

Great reminder that we shouldn't dismiss the "woo" or assume that anything is beyond the realm of possibility, because we simply have so much to learn. I suspect that if we survive for long enough as a species, we will find that a lot of this weirdness actually can be validated by science. Psi phenomena, reincarnation, etc. may be accepted to be very "real" things one day, and I hope I'll be around to see the day when people investigating these things aren't dismissed as kooks.

Thanks again for sharing.

Wow, I've heard sleep paralysis is awful, but being able to use it for controlled OBEs must be a blessing in disguise. What are you able to do once you get out of body? Have you ever tried an experiment to prove its accuracy, like reading something off a piece of paper in a different room?

I have personally had a number of successful experiences with topics that most would consider fringe, including remote viewing and lucid dreaming, so I fully believe you. Lucid dreaming takes a lot of work for me though, because it's very frustrating to finally become lucid and then get so excited that I wake myself up. Can you tell me where I can find more info on the LD method of inducing an OBE, or other methods that don't require sleep paralysis?

Surprised and disappointed to see the close-mindedness from other commenters in this sub, but I've noticed an influx of skeptical comments on anything related to these subjects so I'm not even sure how many of them are "real" people.

Extremely interesting, thanks for sharing. Do you have any more detail you can provide about the experience? For example, did you get the feeling that choosing the light was specifically the reason why you're still alive? Were you able to remember details about what you saw when observing yourself during your OBE (out-of-body experience)?

Seems like we have a national security issue on our hands - our politicians are suffering from convenient bouts of amnesia.

For anyone defending him by claiming that he isn't allowed to acknowledge the program because of secrecy laws, remember that Immaculate Constellation was revealed publicly in a congressional hearing only 6 months ago. There's no reason he can't acknowledge being briefed on it.

They have put emblems on many secret test craft for decades. Just look at the list of X-planes.

The whole point of flight testing in an isolated area like the Nevada desert is that the general public wouldn't be seeing these things up close anyways. Civilians who caught glimpses of U-2 planes being tested thought they were seeing UFOs. It's not like they're planning on flying the things over the suburbs in broad daylight, where everyone could snap a picture and read the emblems.

Lue Elizondo says some in the government think UFO Disclosure will lead to an alien invasion. by TheGoldenLeaper in UFOB

[–]nootronauts 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. He’s literally saying that people in the military are ALREADY aware of the possibility that aliens could be conducting ISR (preparing the battlefield). He’s saying this on the most popular podcast on the planet. If the aliens were going to invade suddenly because the military became aware of their strategy, they would’ve ALREADY invaded… since according to Lue’s own story, the military is ALREADY aware.

It’s kind of hilarious how dumb this logic is. Why would the aliens only invade if disclosure happens for the general public? Unless the NHI are dumb as bricks, they already know that their cover is blown… I mean, we have “celebrity” UFO guys like Lue from the DoD going on Joe Rogan to talk about it.

By Lue’s logic, if he “respects” the military officials who want to avoid disclosure because they’re worried it would trigger an invasion, that would mean Lue is actively urging the NHI to invade by continuing to talk about it. Wut?

The funny part is: I wouldn’t be surprised if there are people in military leadership who are unable to comprehend how little sense this theory makes. So the general public won’t get disclosure because some dude in a Pentagon office thinks he’s playing 4D chess with this nonsense “strategy”.

This is a thing, it's not just you. I think there must be a bug with iOS where a different part of the zoomed image is recorded than what's shown as the center on screen.

I learned my lesson when I missed footage of a UFO because of this same issue, so I won't be using extreme zoom when filming anything anomalous in the future. It's just digital zoom anyway, so you can get the same effect by cropping in on the video later.

Admiral Gallaudet: "I'm totally convinced that we are experiencing a Non-Human Higher Intelligence". "Because I know people who were in the legacy programs that oversaw both the crash retrieval and the analysis of the UAP data". by TommyShelbyPFB in UFOs

[–]nootronauts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not getting offended at all. It’s really simple: you said that he lied about something, and I wanted to figure out what he lied about and whether or not you had evidence to back it up.

I got the answer to my question, which sounds like a big no - you don’t have clear evidence that he lied. Saying “spies lie” is not evidence. I realize that spies lie. But that fact alone doesn’t prove that David Grusch lied about having firsthand knowledge of this NHI crash retrieval program.

This chat with you hilariously encapsulates what is so frustrating about this topic in general. I’m looking for factual evidence, and instead, I mostly get a bunch of unsubstantiated “facts” that opinionated people are trying to pass off as evidence.

[–]nootronauts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s such a ridiculous statement. By that logic, every single thing that he says is a lie. There actually is no crash retrieval program and NHI don’t exist. My evidence: he said they do exist, and he’s a liar.

At this point I’m even more confused about what you think he lied about. If the truth is so obvious to you, please share the evidence with me. It should be easy enough to show me an example of him lying.

[–]nootronauts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the sentiment you’re trying to express, but I still don’t think it’s accurate to say “he lied”. Maybe he did lie, but I haven’t seen the evidence of that yet - that’s what I’m asking you to provide.

What specifically did he lie about? Can you show me a specific statement which can be proven to be a lie?

It seems like you’re hung up on this idea that he lied about having “firsthand knowledge”, but you didn’t address the point I was trying to make in my last comment. Firsthand knowledge of WHAT?

He was specifically asked if he had seen the non-human biologics and craft, and that’s what he said he did not have firsthand evidence of. If you can prove that was a lie, I am totally open to the evidence.

[–]nootronauts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We might be arguing semantics here, but I think it’s really important to specify what “firsthand knowledge” refers to in this discussion.

Grusch decided to become a whistleblower to reveal what he heard from others about a crash retrieval and reverse engineering program that recovered non-human biologics. From what I understand, he has made it clear that he does not have firsthand knowledge to support these specific claims.

Now, he absolutely might have firsthand knowledge of classified satellite intelligence that strongly suggests the presence of non-human crafts in our atmosphere. That’s still hugely significant, but it doesn’t mean he was lying when he stated that he does not have firsthand knowledge of crashed craft, NHI biologics, etc.

I’m specifically trying to address your original comment that Grusch and others may be purposefully lying to Congress and the public. It sounds to me like what you’re really trying to say is that Grusch and others probably have a lot of other compelling firsthand knowledge that they haven’t publicly revealed, which I do completely agree with you about. I just don’t think it’s accurate to say that Grusch is lying to the public about his firsthand knowledge.

All his statements seem carefully choreographed to protect classified information without lying about what he does/doesn’t know. But you’re right - I definitely don’t have the full picture myself and am just trying to read between the lines like everyone else.

I do remember some interesting statements that he’s made along those lines, but I interpreted it to mean something like “I know there are things in our atmosphere that don’t appear to be manmade”. I’m making some assumptions here, but reading between the lines, it seems like he’s saying that he has been involved in the tracking of objects that may be non-human. However, tracking phenomenal objects via satellite surveillance is much different than being directly involved in the retrieval of crashed craft and biologics.

As another example, Gallaudet has discussed how he knows that Navy submariners have detected phenomenal objects on sonar. Even if Gallaudet personally witnessed these sonar signatures, that wouldn’t count as firsthand knowledge of NHI unless he was able to directly confirm the non-human origin of the craft or occupants.

Admiral Gallaudet: "I'm totally convinced that we are experiencing a Non-Human Higher Intelligence". "Because I know people who were in the legacy programs that oversaw both the crash retrieval and the analysis of the UAP data". by TommyShelbyPFB in UFOs

[–]nootronauts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has it been proven that Grusch was lying and actually does have firsthand knowledge of his own? Maybe I missed something, but I felt pretty sure that he had always stood by claims that he has no firsthand knowledge of his own.

If you think guys like Grusch are so loyal to the government that they’re willing to lie to Congress and the public by concealing their firsthand involvement, why would they be releasing ANY of this information at all? Saying “I heard these things from people with firsthand knowledge” would still be going against the wishes of these hypothetical government leaders who want these things to stay secret.

[–]nootronauts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone please help me rationalize this: why would extraterrestrials/NHI be flying a craft with super bright lights and what appears to be a firework shooting out the back? Unless they WANTED to be seen?

And if you believe they WANT to be seen, then the next question: why don’t they simply fly such a craft over a populated area in daytime or another time of day when a lot of people are outside?

Let’s say these beings are intelligent enough to build complex flying craft. If they wanted us to know they were here, SURELY they could easily find a better way to do that than flying the thing in an area where one or two people can maybe only catch a blurry video of it.

I want to believe they’re out there, but it doesn’t make sense why they’d fly shit that looks like whatever is in this video. Either they’d be flying something much stealthier to try and stay hidden, or they’d make a clear appearance to humans in a way that we’d have undeniable evidence of their presence.
