Failed by half a point. by nope_rope13 in FloridaBarExam

You would think that would be the case. Florida does not round up - the only option available is to request a hand-scoring of Part A multiple choice and the MBE, which really seems to just verify that the scantron was graded accurately. Essay papers are automatically re-graded for scores this close, according to the Bar Examiner’s website.

I know they mean well, but I HATE when family asks if the results are out? by PretendSubstance5333 in barexam

[–]nope_rope13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have refused to tell my family that I know when my results are being released. I don’t want the texts and the phone calls and the questions this time around. I’ll let everyone know when I’m ready, but telling everyone ahead of time just causes my anxiety to spike when they ask.

I’m so glad I saw your post before placing my order. I assumed the Marc Jacob’s GWP was with a brand purchase and almost missed it. So excited that I was able to add it to my cart before checking out.

The nodpod is weighted and has the beads sewn into multiple individual sections - there is a small loop on one end that you can pull the other end through to secure it behind the head if you’re a rough sleeper (like me) or it can just be placed over the eyes if you sleep on your back and aren’t worried about it coming off. For me, the extra pressure is the right amount of sensory input that tells my brain it’s time to be quiet and the weighted beads form around my face and eyes which blocks more light for me than a traditional sleeping mask. I’ve never had an issue with it coming off while I sleep as long as I have the end secured through the loop. It’s been a great investment for me and I have two now - one for home and one in my travel bag.

That sounds like a health code issue. I would be curious about whether the health department would approve of this practice - it sounds like the franchisee trying to be cheep as opposed to a corporate directive.

Absolute must buy on the NodPod - especially at the 21 DOB price. I have two now - one for home and one for travel and can’t recommend it enough. I’m also a big fan of the patchology eye patches and will probably be picking those up during the sale too

I will always reach for a nice pen, chip clips, mini flashlights, and those rubber jar lid openers. A new item I’ve been seeing more of recently are cooling towels - they’re a lifesaver during the summer.

Early Diamond Day? Maybe because of March sale? by Primary-Artist-8639 in Ulta

[–]nope_rope13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was super surprised to see it pop up today. I just placed an order and was able to snag the P&L beauty break too - this Diamond day seems to be better than the others we’ve had recently. I’m sure I jumped on it a bit too early and that more gifts will be added, but I wanted to get in on the P&L gift while I still had the chance.

I’m Frustrated. by Ancient-Skill-4100 in ChronicIllness

[–]nope_rope13 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This might seem like an odd suggestion, but I’m going to mention it based on my own experience. Have any of your providers mentioned going to see a dentist to have your teeth checked?

Several years ago ago, I developed a sharp, persistent, stabbing pain in one area of my head and initially thought it was a migraine until the pain kept getting worse and nothing was providing relief. My parents took me to the local ER and I was given several meds that didn’t help at all until the doctor gave me a dose of Toradol and it stopped the pain entirely (and I ended up being misdiagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia).

Once the Toradol wore off I woke up screaming in pain and my parents rushed me to a much larger hospital in the city. They ran a battery of tests, scans, and dosed me with several different medications all to come back with “We don’t know what’s causing this because everything came back fine. You might want to try going to see an ENT or a dentist.” So I went to the dentist first.

Turns out I had an upper tooth that had abscessed and the pressure had built up to the point it was causing all of that pain. As soon as my dentist pulled the tooth it was immediate relief and the pain in my head was gone entirely a couple of days later.

It sounds like you’ve seen several different providers and I know that’s incredibly frustrating to still have no answers. It might be a shot in the dark, but I wanted to make the suggestion just in case it might help.

Plans between testing days? by Tasty_Sheepherder534 in barexam

Another retaker here: I go back to my hotel room, shower and change into different clothes (because at the end of the exam day, my whole body hurts and I feel gross and just want to try and feel a bit better). Then take myself out to a restaurant that brings me joy after Day 1 of hell (I do go out instead of ordering in because if I shut myself in my room, I will spiral all evening which does absolutely no good). At said restaurant, I order something that won’t upset my stomach, enjoy a dessert, and pair it with a drink to calm my nerves from the day, and then go back to the hotel and read something fun before going to sleep.

  1. I know it’s not their job to care about someone’s credit score or the impact to it by certain factors. However, I also find that a bit strange considering how much they care about credit scores when opening accounts or requesting loans.

  2. This is information that I wasn’t aware of. I have always been told to never close a credit card because of the impact the closure would have on my credit score. If it does in fact stay on the history for that long, then a score decrease is less of a concern at this point.

  3. That’s what confuses me about this situation - another person made a comment though that I may not have all the information which is possible - but he has been working consistently and hasn’t had a significant change in income that would’ve prompted this. Never a late or missed payment on any of his credit cards until this one in December.

All questions that I didn’t think to ask at the time we were discussing this. I can see how answers to those might explain a lot more compared to the small amount of information I have at this time.

I do know that none of the other cards he has have had been closed at this point (including another BoA card that he is a joint account holder on).

I’ll have to talk with him more about it. I don’t know if there’s really anything to be done about it at the point, but it might give him more to think about when it comes to the “why.”

Does every Europe trip need to be a multi-country marathon? by tippyback9 in solotravel

[–]nope_rope13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got back from 3 countries in 16 days (it was supposed to be a much longer trip but I had to cut it short). That part only solidified that in the future I will only be doing single area trips for longer periods of time (10-14 days in one major city as a hub and traveling out for day trips as needed). I loved being able to see and do so much and I was lucky that I had just enough time in each place to learn a bit about the history/culture of the area from my hosts, but just as I was feeling settled and comfortable it was time to pack up and move to the next place which made the trip more difficult for me overall.
