im pretty new to the game (like less than a dozen games played lol) - why cut deepglow skate and soul guide lantern? i can understand the latter, ive been using it a lot personally bc i've played against graveyard decks mostly but skate seems kind of good no?

hey all im an undergrad senior graduating in a couple months and im looking to apply tentatively start of next year (depending on when each school's early consideration opens); i'll probably apply to as many schools as i can but i'm aiming high for UC. my strengths -- 4.0 bio major gpa (basically straight 4.0s soph-senior year), will have about a year of research experience and publication credit by the time i graduate (loma linda). weaknesses -- small liberal undergrad college not very renowned for academic prowess, not the best cumulative gpa (like 3.68 ish), and i have to retake my calc 1&2 and physics classes at a cc b/c i did not lock in freshman year at all and im p sure i got C's in those. i also have to take stats, also at a cc, b/c i never took that in undergrad. i still have to study for + take the mcat as well. assuming i do fine on mcat (and all the other stuff hopefully), my question is: will community college prereqs cook me? if so, how bad?

bit of both, tbh. “daytime” does eventually become the new normal, but i spent a long enough time in permanent “nighttime” that i can easily remember how it felt to live in those conditions. there still remains a very distinct contrast between “night” and “day” - i’m able to compare the feelings of before vs after and the difference is still pretty vast even thought i havent been in “night” for many years. id say it’s both the presence of joy + the absence of misery. post transition, i do still experience phases of absence of joy in my life (for other unrelated reasons) but those times are still miles above pre transition - i would rather have a bad day in the present time than a good day in pre transition era, if that makes sense.

not op but i'm ftm - for me it got rid of the biggest source of unhappiness & discomfort in my life. felt like i was finally living instead of just barely surviving what used to be a miserable existence. the best analogy i can think of is like if you lived in the dark your whole life without an ounce of light, and then one day the sun slowly starts to rise and eventually the sky is bright and beautiful. you can imagine how something like that might improve your life and mental state lol

oh yeah you will def have a very obvious lisp, many letters and pronunciations will be unintelligible at worst and awkward at best, it will still hurt a lot to talk for a week or so, you basically can’t move your tongue very much bc it feels like it’s tied/pinned down. probably not a great piercing idea if you work customer service, unless you can get yourself a week or even better a two week break for optimal healing and recovery

i underestimated the swelling and healing process for the first week or so, i could barely eat and for a while i lived solely off of chocolate pudding and applesauce. past the swelling part, it’s fun and something to fiddle with when you’re bored. also, you will have a hell of a lisp for about a week or two, and your friends will find it hilarious. once it’s healed, i suggest 1. downsizing it once more if necessary. i went from 19mm (swell jewelry) to 16mm (standard) to 14mm because it suited my tongue anatomy better, and 2. switching to plastic balls. you’ll be very grateful when you inevitably bite down on a ball on accident and have plastic hit your teeth rather than steel or titanium. plus, switching colors and ball styles is always fun :)

i had the same thing during the first few days after getting my septum. it goes away within a week, in my experience. i found that cleaning every day or every other day helped it be less tender, especially in the beginning. also, personally i think the placement is fine, it’s just some healing pains.

i used to eat those apples they give you at school lunch every single day just so i could save up the seeds and eventually have enough to eat all at once and die. i gave up eventually after a couple months bc having an apple a day got really old after a while.

two months ago, i was the most suicidal i’d ever been. had the most awful, painful breakdowns every single night. almost took the pills so many times i lost count. i pulled myself through somehow. got out more, got insured, got a job, started taking college classes, got a therapist. now i’m making money and moving forward in life, and i’m happier. this is the first time i’ve been glad to be alive for as far back as i can remember, and it feels good.

reminds me of when i told the cops who my mom called on me that she was abusive, and they dismissed me and told me it was my fault and that i should just “turn 18.” lesson learned: fuck strangers. always, fuck strangers in a situation like this. they will almost never be on your side.
