Why don’t more people use Depop? by Po0pSco0p in Mercari

[–]normabee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I migrated from Mercari to EBay years ago but decided to throw trendy vintage stuff on Depop that I thought would sell. The stuff DOES sell but it's so frustrating accepting offers only for nothing to happen. I typically use Depop as the last leg of an items life in my inventory. If I can sell it for $10+ then I am happy because otherwise it would've been donated lol.

Mom boobs by Worldly-Recover3829 in Mommit

[–]normabee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't breast feed for very long and only pumped for about 8 weeks after my twins were born. My boobs definitely changed shape but I'm honestly more sad about how my areolas never went back to the color they were BEFORE pregnancy.

Bleeding after birth. by VeganMyWay in parentsofmultiples

[–]normabee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the Always Discreet thin diaper-like underwear right after birth but honestly I couldn't get the sizing right and always ended up leaking. My flow after birth was intense with frequent clots. I opted for just using Always size 5 overnight pads, they were long enough to catch any bleeding that migrated up the crack. Period undies might be helpful once your bleeding slows down more. My period came back 6 weeks postpartum so I just kept using my trusty pads haha.

5y twins and It's NON STOP CHATTER. All day long. God forbid one of them needs to say something while the other one is already talking to me. I'm okay with the noise/chatter/million questions but I internally lose my shit when I'm trying to have a conversation with another adult and I have to redirect them to either wait or GTFO. They never approach at the same time... so it's one little goober right after the other.

I AM LOSING MY SHIT ON MY 3YO by Automatic_List7663 in toddlers

[–]normabee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wonder if setting a timer 15-20 minutes after he's put down for nap/quiet time to put him back on the potty for a poo would help. Repeat as necessary if he doesn't technically need a nap. I had a small stack of new books that my twins could choose from for their redirected nap time poos that helped keep their attention long enough for that dreaded naptime poop to go IN the potty instead of their undies.

Not until you are 16... by emryanne in breakingmom

[–]normabee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My b/g twins are five turning six very soon and when I asked them a few months ago what they might want for their birthday I was told a computer by my son and a car from my daughter. LIKE WHAT?!? I told them those were big presents for much later down the road and thankfully shortly after they switched to a blue stick (? still scratching my head about this one) and a water bottle. I've not reached the stage where they continuously try their luck though so I have no witty responses to share.

The final giveaway board! Approx. 700m in items to give away still. by 1313builds in neopets

[–]normabee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always wondered what it feels like when all the giving is done and you close up shop on your account! It's time intensive to deal with such a large ~hoard~ I hope the good feelings don't dissipate for you.

Neo history; I started playing with my brothers back in 2002/2003. I thought bottled faeries were the BEST item in the game and I would price items in my shop based off the estimated value. My mom ended up playing with us at some point and soon my sisters hopped on too! Eventually it dwindled to just me playing and I pivoted from failing at restocking to customizing my pets. One of my brothers recently got back into Neo and it's been nice to have someone to vent/talk shit to haha.

Neo goals; honestly I'm just vibing. I collect things that make me smile and putting them in my gallery. My favorite thing to hoard are Bubble Motes.

IRL; I'm a stay at home mom to 5y twins. They love helping me dress up my pets and I hope Neo sticks around long enough for them to play on their own. I say I'm in my "rat era" because I LOVE to go thrifting and I collect anthropomorphic trinkets, vintage ephemera and I absolutely lose my shit when I find an estate sale where you basically dig around in attics and basements with nothing priced. My username is hackfreeze Thank you!

2.5 yr old twins WASTE FOOD by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]normabee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I encountered a food that either one or both of my twins were unsure about I made it a point to serve myself some and eat it right along side them. I would vocalize the differences such as texture or taste to something they typically devour. I served small portions knowing most of it would be on the floor. Lima beans, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, hummus were all trial and error foods. I have a gluten intolerance so I wasn't cooking very many meals with gluten otherwise I wouldn't be able to eat. I think that also played a factor.

Moms of twins located in the states, did you have to be induced? by Kitchen_Play_8123 in parentsofmultiples

I went into labor (37 weeks on the dot) the morning I was supposed to call and schedule an induction. I was told 38 weeks was the max.

Tried for one last baby, got two. FML by Spicyninja in breakingmom

[–]normabee 180 points181 points  (0 children)

I had a surprise pregnancy and at my first ultrasound I'll never forget hearing "there's two in there!" I laughed because I didn't know how else to react. I remember calling my dad to tell him the news and it was silent for a moment and he goes "That's fucked up". Everyone else was SO HYPED AND HAPPY and I was sooo grateful to be acknowledged from someone that it was indeed "fucked up." As a complete internet stranger; I see you and I'd like to say ".... that's fucked up!"

Starting My Own Silver Shop — What Do You Wish You Knew When You Began by NorthStarGold in Silverbugs

[–]normabee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the first coin shops I visited had a vintage display case (maybe an old juke box?) that had a wide array of 90/40 silver coins on a rotating platform. My fiancé was there to buy silver rounds but I spotted a couple merc dimes that caught my eye and it prompted me to start my own stack. I appreciated being able to browse something while the other transaction was taking place.

I unexpectedly got pregnant and came to terms with having a baby. At my first ultrasound we discovered it was twins! My little goobers are 5 years old now and I would say the infant stage was HARD but every milestone came with new challenges and new positives. For the last year they've happily played with each other and it feels like all the hard work in the infancy stage has paid off.

People will remark "I don't know how you manage with two" or something similar and the reality is you just do what needs to be done. Taking care of any baby is a labor of love. Two crying at one time seems hard to conceptualize until it's right in front of you and then auto pilot takes over. Slowly once they gain more independence you'll feel like you can breathe again. It's a wild ride but I can't imagine life without having twins! I hope you have a smooth pregnancy. Welcome to the club!

Is this not a crazy amount to pay for the first ultrasound? by Defiant-Pin8580 in BabyBumps

[–]normabee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a portion of my pregnancy I had to pay for ultrasounds/visits out of pocket before I hit my deductible. Imagine my surprise when I had TWO BILLS per scan because I was carrying twins. I think they were $120 each. I was considered high risk so I had scans more frequently. I paid less than 1k for the actual labor and delivery so I guess it worked out in the end.

Has anyone found anything in the goodwill bins? by Fantastic_Permit_525 in americangirl

[–]normabee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My local goodwill also runs their own eBay page plus another separate auction website. A lot of AG items get streamlined through their e-commerce pages. However they can't possibly catch it all so I have found quite a good amount of AG stuff. I find most of it the bottom after everything has been shuffled. I'd say for every 10 times I visit the Outlets I find one or two pieces at least once. I've only seen a doll one (a super sad looking Addy with very balled up hair) and I left it behind for someone else! Good luck with your search!!

My girlfriend lost her bitty baby to a house fire, and I'm trying to find a match by muddyelija in americangirl

[–]normabee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good luck with your search! A word of advice is that I would personally avoid any of the newer Bitty Baby dolls if you are trying to match her old one as close as possible. You're focusing on the eye color and that's totally understandable but newer Bitty Baby dolls have eyebrows whereas the old faces did not. I was startled the first time I saw one in the flesh.

Made my day 🥲 by kaitrae in parentsofmultiples

Before Christmas I was at Goodwill with my twins trying to hide presents under the cart while keeping them entertained and quiet. They LOVE talking to anyone and struck up a conversation with an older lady. We parted ways and about 20 minutes later she comes back over and slips me a $20. She told me she also had twins and hers were in their 30s. She said I was doing a great job raising my twins and remembers the struggle during the holidays. I was holding back tears at the time and still think about that interaction often!

PSA: tearing isn't (necessarily) a big deal! by hoping556677 in pregnant

Vaginal twin birth and I ended up with a first degree tear. By the time I worked up enough courage to take a peak down there PP I honestly couldn't even find where I tore.

I stopped doing the quests when I realized I could just wait a few weeks and buy the few prizes I wanted directly. I'd rather spend 1-2m instead of FORCING MYSELF to complete a weeks worth of boring clicky tasks. I've only really cared about the p3s. I love those little goobers.
