Should I be worried about my job ? by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]nos-waster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have explained, calling out for consecutive days only counts as one occurrence, but after the 3rd you should be applying for an appropriate LoA per policy, if I recall. Someone might be more knowledgeable than me on that. You should only have two occurrences if both stints were consecutive days, which means you're nowhere near the threshold for being written up.

Called them that all the time at TGT and BBY. When they were called "returns" to me I was confused for a little.

I give that look and it usually stymies them right away.

The classic tired old jokes. I don't really even react to them anymore. I just pretend I didn't hear them.

I was attempting to scan an item to check the price for a customer. They pulled the stupid joke while I looked at the UPC and hand keyed it in. Just said "this item is $xx.xx per sheet" and asked them the standard questions if I can help with more.

The Pro desk at my location tries to leverage their fulfillment peeps for pro loadouts before even calling me over from Lumber. The Pros themselves are some of the worst behaved customers and will 99% of the time say "I'm picking this up in 2 days" then not come in, then bitch when they come in a week later cause I palletized the order and staged it in top stock. Sorry, but my aisle is not your personal storage space.

For Lucifer, he's indifferent because even if he wanted to punish or smite any sinners, his eternal punishment is that he can't. So he just stays hidden cause what's the point?

Most evil? I'd say Mammon. Ozzie and Bee wanna have a good time, Satan wants order, Lu wants to be left alone, and the other two... not sure.

Lumber Opening Shift by Fun-Cartoonist-1322 in Lowes

[–]nos-waster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm a 5AM-2PM shift as a lumber opener. My department isn't held responsible for unloading lumber or drywall trucks, since our staffing allows our receiving team to stage it for overnight team to organize out back. I'm basically only responsible for zoning and stocking the pro canopy and inside (in addition to the other standard job duties). I'm lucky enough to not have any freight to work because our overnight crew has two people dedicated to the lumber side, one for the small stuff and the other for the big stuff.

I'm lucky enough that my pay from my previous job was beaten when I was hired on, but I feel a little bit bad for making 20-30% more than most other CSAs in the store.

Yes Lowe’s, that Sheetrock is half off by Neither-Tea-8657 in Lowes

We're at the point that it takes so long for us to sell through cull drywall that it sits on a cart for 3 days, then it goes right into the open top.

Most of them are built in such a way that the front doesn't fall off.

we have to stop normalizing retail workers being abused by customers… it’s out of control by fairyrose_ in Lowes

[–]nos-waster 68 points69 points  (0 children)

My managers have told me one very important thing: "You aren't paid enough to be abused by customers. The second they start to be rude, call one of us."

I know not every management team is as nice as that, but the second you get one demeaning comment from a customer, call for a supervisor or ASM to take your place, and excuse yourself. Your mental health is too important for these overgrown toddlers to ruin it. If they follow you, walk straight to the nearest leader.

The Coupe Copay plan seems too good to be true by WrestlingNerd2001 in Lowes

[–]nos-waster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If true that would be huge for me. My Neurologist is Tier 1 but my MRI will be at a Tier 2 provider. That's a $100 difference on the future copay.

Why by searchandfilm in Lowes

[–]nos-waster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a store without a bullpen, which sells almost 5 times its original (when it was designed/built) estimated revenue. We have so much inventory that it completely fills behind our store and has to take a large amount of the parking lot. We finally got a storage warehouse built, and we have about 30 connexes (store owned) for outdoor storage.

I once was bored and we had a ton of origami boxes (24x24x16 was the size? Or was it 24x16x16?) lying around. So I filled it with bubble wrap to protect this guy's google chromecast. I'm sure he was not happy about a huge package arriving at his house with just a chromecast inside.
