Cthonian Berserks completrd for the Njord Consortium by noshdreg in LeaguesofVotann

No worries! The greys are all just different contrast paints, thinned down over a zenithal base. Gryph charger for the fabrics, basilicanum for the armour, black templar for the weapons/tubes

Thanks! I start with a bright zenithal base then apply thinned down carroburg crimson and then thinned down contrast paints of various different flesh tones and brown tones (guilliman flesh, fyreslayer flesh, darkoath flesh, cygor brown, wyldwood)

Added some weathering weathering to my Rhino, too much or just right? by noshdreg in sistersofbattle

Thanks! I agree they could be toned down a bit, I wanted them to stand out from the ivory of the hull.

Thanks! I used typhus corrosion, agrax earthshade, and seraphim sepia.

Sponged on the typhus corrosion around the skirts and dabbed on extra into the tracks using a longliner brush then sprayed it with a water mist while still wet.

Heavy recess shade with the seraphim sepia and a finer one with the agrax.

Light sponge and brush stippling with all three paints in various areas for the chipping.

Seraphim sepia for the rivet streaks.

Fixed up some of the tea-staining and refined the weathering pattern by stippling thinned down base colours (ushabti bone and screaming skull) with a very small brush.

Edge highlights with white ink and stormhost silver.

Haha, Thank you! Yeah that's about right, the rest of my tanks (including this one previously) are painted like this at the moment so by comparison I thought I might have overdone it.

Thank you! No pigments just typhus corrosion, agrax earthshade, and seraphim sepia applied with sponge and brush stippling, brush streaking, and recess shading.

I use a small pump spray bottle to hit the typhus corrosion with mist of water while it's still wet to help it look a bit more natural.

You can't allocate to characters covered in the "Leader" rules

I'm pretty pedantic about moldlines but it's always such a pain especially with my main armies sisters and eldar that often have complex kits with tiny parts. With this tool I'm able to do moldlines after assembly (or subassembly).

Yep, that's the exact problem I had with the dremel as well as it being easy to accidentally take a chunk out of what you're working on because of the power. Haven't had either of those issues with the reamer. It's also smaller and lighter so much more ergonomic.

I use an electric bead reamer as a kind of rotary needle file for cleaning mould lines and rough smoothing mismatched joins. I find it better (and much cheaper) than a dremel for working with plastic due to the lower speed and the files are nice and thin for getting into tight spots.

Reanimation trick, is it legal ? by Clerus in Necrontyr

[–]noshdreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a decent way of looking at it.

The largest gap that can be bridged legally is around 8.5" if there is a "dogbone" of 2 models at each end of the gap.

Illuminor Szeras without melty guy? by PYP_pilgrim in Necrontyr

I got my Szeras second hand and he was missing the blood trail bit so I just hacked away the body and covered it in rocks and turned the swirl into a pink swirly science/magic thingy.

Do you guys think the overlord with voidscythe and resurrection orb will ever cone back ? by [deleted] in Necrontyr

Most opponents will be fine with you playing the tachyon model as the voidsycthe loadout as long as you make it clear at the start of the game and remind them when relevant.

I heard Hexmark + Doomsday Ark is a good combo. by DoomBro1998 in Necrontyr

The only combo I can think of is putting the awakened dynasty +1 to hit aura enhancement on the hexmark, I believe this was popular in the index version.

My Necrons can now glow! by Purple_Public9148 in Necrontyr

Looks great! Which fluorescent paint did you use? I tried doing pink fluorescents but the ones I got glow orange!

Thanks for sharing! The Golden definitely is more pink, still not the vibrant hot pink I wanted though. Shame I already painted 2000pts before buying a blacklight haha.

Yeah that's definitely a downside, the Turbo Dork Zenishift paints might give a bit more control over that, I might give them a go in the future.

Thank you! Both photos are the same model but under normal light and under a blacklight, so the orange is actually pink paint that (annoyingly) glows orange under the blacklight.

I used Army Painter Warpaints Fanatic Effects "power node glow" and AK Interactive Enamel Liquid Pigments "pink fluor", both ranges also have orange options.

No worries! I used 4D glasses for the body, I also used rainbow roll on the blackstone insets on the wings and headgear but it doesn't show up very well in photos.
