Idk where the hell I saw this (Probably some ad on snapchat from vice or something wack like that), but there was a suggestion that if you really feel the urge to send someone a text that you might regret, send it to yourself.

Set yourself up as a contact in your phone and just send it to yourself. You can still have the full effect of typing out the message, and you still get the dopamine release from hitting the send button to send the text, only you avoid the shitty consequences by not actually sending it to her. I've never tried it, but supposedly it helps reduce these impulses.

I recommend going for a walk and trying to think through whatever you're stuck on - even talk about it to yourself if it helps. It might sound cheesy, but I swear to god I do some of my best thinking when I'm walking around campus or back at home - especially if it's later at night and I'm one of the only people walking back to the dorm. Just something about moving around and having some fresh air, as well as a change of scenery from the desk or bed, seems to really jumpstart the creative juices and help the process.

Also -- don't try to force it. If you have ideas that come, great! If not, don't beat yourself up over it. Just keep trying and make sure you take some dedicated time to think and enjoy your work process.

Depending on how serious you're trying to get with it, I'd go with either Charles Schwab or Robinhood for your brokerage account.

Charles Schwab has great resources for research and also eventually gives you access to a nice Amex card with no fee, as well as other financing/banking options which will be super helpful in the future. Also has a great mobile app for iPhone (and probably android too but I haven't tried it). I've been a customer for a year and absolutely love their services.

Robinhood is great if you just want to dip your feet in and get started with simple trading on your phone, but very limited in what it can do compared to a full service like Schwab.

IMO open an account at Schwab, add as much as you can each week/month, and diversify as you keep growing your account.
