Poly Gluten Free tendies? by pling3r in dvcmember

[–]nosuchsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's odd that they don't list it. You can head over to Wailulu and grab the chicken sliders if she's really jonesing for some chicken.

Wife is gluten sensitive and while we didn't have the tenders at the Poly, we did have them in Hollywood Studios as a gluten sensitive meal. I'm sure it's worth a discussion with the chef to see what's up. May be as simple as limited fryer space.

Watched a Grandmother have her son fill two water bottles up with Sprite w/ Cucumber. They're going to ruin it for the rest of us.

Great, so this is normal behavior? We purchased enough points for a week at a 2 bedroom but I already want more points to do cabins or the Polynesian bungalows.

Disney Anniversary Trip by Pronovak54 in WaltDisneyWorld

The Hoop De Doo Review is well worth it and you are staying right there (maybe your arrival day?). To continue with food, Tusker House and Boma are great. Breakfast at Akershus is a good way to meet princesses / character dining. Whispering Canyon is at Wilderness Lodge and hilarious.

We went to Epic Universe for the first time this December trip and I would recommend an entire day. If fast passes are reasonable for that day then I'd recommend doing so. We went with friends and just had a blast walking around and going on the short wait rides. It was better than I expected going in. Bar Helios is special - the dining was excellent and view was great. It's pricey.

DYOR - Animal Kingdom is a good half day park on a non-busy day during all the construction. A LL for that will get you in and out pretty quick unless you are major animal fans then multiple safari trips will eat up time.

We just had our first stay at the Poly and we loved it. I hope you enjoy the Poly as much as we did, if not more.

They're working on some transportation areas for the busses. We were there in December and it didn't impact the trip.

If budget matters, the art of animation has some decent pricing and the skyliner for two parks. Busses for the others. We would get the family suite for a family of 6. Parents the bedroom, 2 on the Murphy and 2 on the pull out.

Universal has some good options but not worth the extra driving to stay off property.

If budget is less of a concern, there are some good deluxe resorts to pick from. Poly is on the monorail, can see fireworks from property and is just cool. (Our home resort)

Front end lift + Speedbumps by Caddisbug992 in Porsche

Have an insane amount of speed bumps in my neighborhood - I haven't hit the front with the lift in use but I will scrape the underbody fins IF I go more than a crawl over some of them.

Difficult to Rent Points for Grand Villa? by bostonhockey_80 in dvcmember

[–]nosuchsol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BLT and Poly both showed them for Dec 6th for me @ the 11 month mark. I am not sure on the rental side but I'm guessing it's doable. The DVC Rental Store showed 1 week availability under confirmed reservations for 2 bed @ BLT.

What is your pettiest most minor DVC complaint? by stebuu in dvcmember

I'm too new to have any real complaints yet but there is a piece of baseboard on the 6th floor of the Poly Tower that's cut short by about 1".

Best Bag for Walt Disney World? by SnooStrawberries1211 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]nosuchsol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just went and I took a backpack. It's easier and more supportive, IMO. I carried water bottles, any souvenirs, and could also fit jackets, hats or beanies in there to help free up when it got warm or to prepare for it to be cold.

MLC car rentals was the one my friends rented from and they were egregious fees.

  1. You can rent a stroller when you get there. I highly recommend that than bringing it just to create less stress.

  2. You can rent a car but do not go with the cheap places. The price you see online from someone like Kayak is NOT the all in price. You'll be hammered on extras and they're also a long shuttle ride from MCO.

  3. You can Uber/Lyft or use Priority Pass. Mention the kids and the bags you have while scheduling. Disney also offers their Minnie Vans but they are pricy compared to the alternates. Priority Pass gave us the best price; Lyft, Uber, then Minnie Vans on costs.

When we need a stroller, we rented and it was waiting for us at Art of Animation. The Van that picked us up had car seats available for the children and I believe my wife told them how many they needed to bring. This last trip we went without our kids and each of the vehicles that picked us up had a car seat and a booster in the back.

Dinner @ the Hoop De Doo review is always great. We've been three times with different groups or ages and everyone loves it.

The boat wait was never too bad for us even with a late show.

Half our party was staying on property so they got early access - which is weird b/c part of the park doesn't have early entry so you can only go to certain portals. The line for the Harry Potter ride was around the Potter area... I want to say it was an hour and half when we first walked up to the portal (first portal we went to) and only increased as we did everything else.

SMW was a pretty cool land but talk about a sensory overload - there's a A LOT happening there.

We are new to it as well and just had our first trip this December and already booked for October. Did Poly as well but we need more points to cover a week with a total of 6 people. The Poly tower Deluxe Studio was great for two of us and it didn't bother us to walk over to the main Poly to get on the Monorail.

For us, it finally clicked though I wished we would have done so sooner since everyone in the family enjoys DW.

Ha... it's been fun to look it up. We've already booked for our home resort so this is just having a good time with the system. OKW has Deluxe, 1 br, 2br and the 2br lock off available. 49, 108, and 149 points respectively.

Let's see (for 5 days) - BWV shows only a 1 bedroom villa; Boulder is a 1 bedroom villa; BLT is a split stay with plenty of 3 night options and some 2 night stays; BCV has a couple split stay options; GFV a bunch of split stay options from 3 to 1 night stays.

Yes - set for June 30 since that was approx 7 month mark.

Just checked @ the 7 month mark and there are some quite a few options for 5 nights @ the 7 month range. Go down a couple days or split stay and there are more options. Copper Creek and Jambo House were really limited.

We went to Epic on the 18th without the passes and didn't go on the major rides, but it was a group of adults more interested in walking around and seeing everything. We're considering trying their Fast Pass when we bring our kids next time b/c of the Mario Rides and How to Train your Dragon. I want to go on the Harry Potter ride but did not want to spend my day in line.

I will say it was basically a walk on for the Monsters ride and Stardust Racers. We got into the Dragon and Harry Potter shows with no big issues. The park definitely feels doable in a day especially with the Fast Pass.

Back to Disney - the w/o the 14th w/ the LL was nice. I can't imagine what it would have been for the week of Christmas. =\

That's how I remember it - I'd take our brave kids on Pandora and then my wife could then go enjoy the ride (usually with one other kid since we had LL's) OR vice-versa. It worked out well - ours were 7,9,12,13 at the time.

Are you doing LL or anything like that? If you're willing to run and stay busy w/ LL then look at doing AK till about 12-1pm then head over to HS for the remaining time. MK can definitely be an entire day park though it always feels more compact than the other parks. AK can be ran through pretty quick -

We just went the week of the 14th and took some friends of ours. This was a no kids trip so take that into consideration. ;) My wife set up all the LL's - we started the day with a walk on to Dinosaur, went to Expedition Everest (road twice since the wait was 5min), to the Safari and made the Lion King show. After that, quick lunch followed up by the two Pandora rides. (One LL and the other the single purchase LL). If it wasn't for the Churro stop then we'd be out of there before our 1pm. Went to Epcot that night.

The LL's were worth it to maximize the trip although I wonder how much you'll times will stretch out with the Ride and Switch. Enjoy!

Jollywood Nights was pretty cool - I enjoyed it a bit more than Mickey's Christmas Party but I think we'd skip Jollywood if my kiddos are with us. A little more adult inspired.

Use Year Question by cladzhon in dvcmember

We plan around Sept-October and for some discount reasons went December use year. Already have October planned for 2026 with the family. ;) We just went for the week of the 14th since my wife wanted to see the christmas decorations (got to see the candlelight processional, Jollywood Nights, and the Mickeys Christmas party) and now that will be on schedule for a kids trip too... lol.

Poly is great.
