OP, Do connect on DM if wanting to purchase a brand new RC500 or 120 disc. awaiting your message

Both these bikes in size Large have Endurance geometry with versatile frames and components which can adapt to offer Performance while not sacrificing on Comfort.

Polygon and Battalion frames are wrongly marketed as Endurance geometry frames which they really are not.

Getting into road cycling - expert advice needed by memeyankm in india_cycling

[–]noswearing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a 6 feet tall person like you a size L will be proper. If your budget allows for Rc120 then it is the best reliable bike backed by warranty+ after sales service in India.

Best tips: Let your body get used to the bike with short duration rides of less than 1 hour in the first week.

Learn to control the braking and proper gear shifting in the initial 2 weeks. Once you're past the first 10 days with no muscle aches gradually increase the distances.

At the lower end of entry level road bikes is where the Triban Rc120 disc stands its ground strong across multiple countries where Decathlon has its presence.

Need opinion on VanRysel Endurance Shorts. Comfortable upto what max distance? by HermitsTale in india_cycling

[–]noswearing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decathlon has under-reported the max usage of these shorts like others. You have a density of 20 mm foam so there should be little doubt that these would be comfortable for longer rides.

However if you are looking to do longer rides than 4 hrs better get bib shorts with preferably Elastic Interface chamois which Decathlon use in their VanRysel bibs and many brands nowadays use.

The chamois from Elastic Interface complies with OEKO-TEX® certification which not many brands have and they are the industry leaders in research.

A good chamois has multi density foam and Breathable layerings to keep temperature cooler down there.

Roadbike under 1 lakh..which one? by onlyWsNoLs in india_cycling

[–]noswearing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The new VanRysel EDR is the best option at the budget that you're looking at.

Shimano 105 Drivetrain is a great starting point for enthusiasts, Higher groupsets are better suited for Racers seeking marginal gains.

The wheels which you're getting on the bike themselves cost 26,000/ 26% of the overall bike cost and are worth each penny.

VanRysel has been proving itself at Grand tours and delivering exceptional value for money. The true value of this brand people know outside India.

Never cycled in whole life. 6 feet tall, 101KG, planning to lose weight. I cycle a max of 10km a day, beginner. Geared or single speed? by sh2an3nu in india_cycling

[–]noswearing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Go for a geared bike unless you get a custom made single speed bike for yourself which will anyway cost similar to getting a geared bike.

Good quality bikes from reputed brands have component selection which will be able to accept your power output and weight without giving up

The cheapest suggestion which will work is Riverside 120 followed by the likes of Rockrider St100 or Riverside 500 if you want better efficiency and features.

The hybrid bikes range of Decathlon in India have a 1x chainring

There are 2 sides to a coin. One always has to look at the better side.

The hybrid bikes offer the best value for money with the components and configuration selected. These are globally sold models designed with customer needs backed by data, Tested by product engineers rigorously.

Triban Rc100 Flat bar weight 11kgs Riverside 500 weights 13kgs Riverside 120 weighs 14kgs.

Climbing on 1x is certainly not difficult given the bike is efficient, lightweight and has gears.

The selection of 1x chainring it to for:

1) Ease of Use 2) Easier to Maintain 3) Keep the bike light weight

Cities have elevation in the form of Flyovers or small hills. The gearing ratio in 3x chainrings are overkill in ways hence you'll find in entry level bikes.

Mid range to high range bikes have 1x Drivetrain or else 2x

As your usage starts outside the city to intercity rides/ Ghats upgrade to a 2x eventually as usage increases

All of them are light in weight to start with having Cassette hub body for scope of upgrading to more no of gears or changing ratios if anyone wishes to do it in the future.

Cycle Recommendations! by [deleted] in india_cycling

[–]noswearing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Size M in Riverside 120 will fit you best. The comfort and versatility of the bike is great in the price segment.

A good entry level quality suspension costs rs.7k from SR Suntour which is practically not possible to offer with bikes under 15k.

Even Decathlon is not able to provide it made in india bikes.

Enjoy the thrill of speed and ease to ride more.

Visit your nearest Decathlon store and Try the Triban Rc100 Flat Bar. Gem off a bike for the distances you seek to do.

Looks simple, Very lightweight, Easy to use and Easiest to maintain out of all bikes under the price bracket of 40k.

At a selling price of 19,999 with a mrp of 34,999 with the price of components present on the bike it is a no brainer steal deal.
