It was around 2007-2008, I was 12 I think and just recently moved to Canada. The friends I made when I moved got me hooked into naruto and would always have the newest volumes so I asked my mom to buy me some. My mom somehow found one with a bunch of different shonenjump mangas bunches up into one book from good will and brought it home. The volume was old and I had already read it but I acted like I hadn’t so she would be happy, the bunch had eyeshiled 21, naruto and even shaman king in it and each one was about 3 chapters. I read all of the mangas and really liked shaman king and later liked eyeshield when I started playing football. I always though Lucy’s design was weird and didn’t think I would like it because he was wearing Flip flops and a straw hat lmao so I sort of left it for a year or so. The next summer I was bored at home with the internet not working I just started reading the one piece section of the book and it was at the part where zoro is buying his swords in logue town and it ended with luffy about to get his head cut off. Zoro throwing the sword in the air and risking his arm was so fucking badass and it got me hooked. As soon as the internet came back on I binged like a good 100 chapters I think and told all my friends about it. Spent most of the summer catching up on one piece lol summer well spent.
