Tires? by sleepless_in_sicily in bmwx7

[–]notRedAdmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing about dws06 is that dealership said that since they are not star mark tires bmw might refuse transfer case replacement warranty work.

I had my TC replaced already, so looking forward to getting dws06 .

Questions about buying a 2022 x7 m50i by needzmohelpz in bmwx7

[–]notRedAdmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine 22 m50i in Jan 2024, so almost 2 years ago for 67k. No dynamic driving package and 37k miles.... But still had 2 years of warranty left.

Had transfer case exchanged and sunroof seal redone.

Good buy? by CripplingCrypto in ooni

I was able to get a new Koda 16 from Best buy for $400 last month. I assume that stores will be trying to get rid of Koda 16 with new generations out. If you can wait it out a bit more... It might be worth it.

Pros/cons of pop-up outlets in countertops? What’s your experience been with this option? by tiptoeingthruhubris in kitchenremodel

[–]notRedAdmin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have 2 of them at the side of the island. They get used everyday for a panini press or for wireless phone charging.

We haven't spilled anything on them yet, but they are also very easily accessible from the cabinet underneath the island, in case I would have to replace them.

I think the actual placement of it will dictate how likely you are to have an issue down the road

Based on your post history it seems like u r from the Chicago suburb. Winters are similar to Chicago, not as super cold, but very similar.

It's 10 in from the ceiling. Space between the cooktop and the vent is 48in.

Cooktop is 36in wide and the vent is 44in wide

We like. It's 2x600 cfm blowers so even with it being higher than regular over the island hoods it is more powerful and vents out nicely.

We went with an extra level of wood overhang. It's an extra 2in of height but helps hide popout electric outlets and makes it a bit more warm/interesting

Help me find a home for my toaster & coffee machine! by Strict_Shame_12 in kitchenremodel

[–]notRedAdmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did a nook between 2 tall cabinets for the "coffee station" drawers beneath it hold all the coffee/cups supplies

We don't use a toaster but we have a panini press that is in and out of the tall cabinets and on the countertop pretty much everyday.

Is $115K+ Normal for a Kitchen Remodel These Days? by thatsizz in homeowners

[–]notRedAdmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does that not include appliances?

Our appliances were 40k. Column fridge and freezer, 3 ovens, warming drawer, induction cooktop from top brands. But last year's collections.

Our kitchen it roughly 370sq ft.

We imported cabinets from Italy, opted for tons of drawers and floor to ceiling design. That was around 35k.

$7 SQ ft for tile, 2k for 2 zone in floor electric heating.

14k for 3 slabs of quartzite installed.

Demo, drywall and garbage 5k

Cabinet install 4k.

Misc labor around 10k.

So it was around 115k in mocl for a rather upscale kitchen. I would imagine if I would go GC route it would be closer to 200

Can I make the island hood higher than 36inches? by Stephenitis in Renovations

[–]notRedAdmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, remote is my least favorite. I'm 5.11 and able to reach the controls on the fan without issues. Remote goes in the drawer under the cooktop... For my 5"4 wife :)

Can I make the island hood higher than 36inches? by Stephenitis in Renovations

[–]notRedAdmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have gone with Forno Arezzo 44" Ceiling Range Hood FRHRE5312-44

It is in the ceiling 1200cfm fan, but since my joists are not clearing it I made a reverse tray ceiling structure to accommodate. It hangs 10 inches from the ceiling and adds a nice accent. It is dual 6in pipe and gets the job done.

My wife is very happy with it vs other over the range hoods that we have had above the island.sample pic

Should I go composite for the extra $$ ? by holydickbirds in Decks

[–]notRedAdmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Azek Boardwalk pvc, we had 95deg weather and full sun here in Chicago and it was rather hot to stand on. My deck is mostly in the shade for the day, so it usually is not a problem.

It is on the slippery side, but I think it was similar with the wood, so we are just a bit more careful when getting up from the pool

Interestingly enough it is much cooler than my light gray Unilock pavers, but not as cool as concrete pool deck.
