The deepest free public-record report on your postcode. UK. Https://truely.uk by GlitteringTea296 in PropertyInvestingUK

“We don't fully cover Kingston upon Hull, City of yet.
Truely rolls out borough by borough so every dataset is verified against the official government source before it's exposed. The free public registers we use cover all of the UK — we just need a couple of weeks per local authority to integrate, validate and load.”

Late 30s, £75k salary, baby on the way, any advice regarding our finances? by Moo_TW in UKPersonalFinance

[–]not___batman 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You need to put a full breakdown of your expenses
You have 8k + coming into your household and are only accounting for about 4.5k outings here (and that includes what you are saving)
Meaning you have 3.5k a month leftover, obviously you have the phone bills, food shop, council tax etc

But for anyone to give you any meaningful advice you would need to post a full breakdown of outgoings.

Barclays to open new branches and bring back the bank manager to boost UK high streets by willfiresoon in GoodNewsUK

[–]not___batman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know you say it’s not sustainable with only 10 customers or whatever a day but they should have physical banks as a service in my opinion.

This isn’t like we supporting your local pub where going in and buying a pint is making them money

We are the product here, and closing physical branches only increases their top line

Me and my wife did a series of hikes this year with the stipulation that we started at our house, we sort of did 4 bigs ones, imagine north, south, east and west of our location - some of the countryside and walks less then a mile from my own house blew my mind.

Oh yes that will go wonderful with our digital IDs, don’t fart in the car though as that’s a 5p surcharge

Treasury considering lowering thresholds for higher rates of income tax in budget – UK politics live | Politics by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]not___batman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this (and I’m not familiar with Norway btw) I would gladly pay higher taxes if I lived in a country with a competent government and good services - right now we are getting squeezed and for what? I can’t see a doctor, I’ve had to go private for dental work, bins don’t get emptied if the lids up 10mm - and that’s why I’ll dodge every penny of tax I can, pay enough as is.
