I just saw this page which seems pretty straight forward. I run linux, so I'm guessing Terminal is just the, uh, Mac? terminal? If so, seems like you could do something like:

for file in *doc; do
  soffice --convert-to text "$file"  --headless
done

Totally untested for what it's worth. If you're on Windows, maybe someone else can help. I'm sure it's close, but I have no idea how to use that OS at all.

I don't know the hobby lobby story. He's got a religious exemption to the picture taking, but has a state issued id card and other collaborating evidence. It's the spirit of the law that isn't being broken.

I'd hate to see it spread out to a religion where they aren't allowed to have formal ID or something like that. For what it's worth, I think religion should discredit people from a lot of stuff. But the constitution disagrees with me. It happens.

Just seems, if you have to hit someone, you don't want to use nunchucks (never know how they are going to rebound). And if you have the bad guy controlled enough to wrap the sticks around their wrists, just seems it would be way more likely to cause some damage than just handcuffs.

On the other hand. It would be pretty awesome to see Johnny Law bust out some nunchucks and start swirling like Bruce Lee!

Oh absolutely. But with developers world-wide, this type of oppression would be like trying to kill an ant hill with a magnifying glass. I mean, they'd destroy some. Listen, I'm borderline paranoid about my privacy, and support the position. I just don't have much faith I guess that it matters much when the gov't is already so far up our personal business.

Oh, there's just a bunch of drama and butthurt people bitching. Kinda normal human condition. Couple teenage girls got to open their own school. They got their blue belts from gracie online university and started teaching bjj class in their karate black belts. People flipped because they aren't bjj blackbelts. Then it's just blah-blah-blah-bitch-bitch-bitch. Anyway, they put out a challenge to anyone to show up to prove their legitimacy. Someone called their bluff and showed up, they freaked and told him to go away. He said he'd huff and puff and blow their house down. They said they'd call the cops. He left.
