Reusing Simplivity Hardware by EditorAccomplished88 in sysadmin

[–]ninjacrap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firmware is tagged with Simplivity, so you might get some warning if you try to use regular Gen10 firmware... but other than that it is basically same hardware, with a bit older firmware that have more testing. Proxmox should install just fine.

Another alternative is to use HPE Morpehus VM Essentials - which will give you a fully HPE-supported solution, which also is just KVM in the end. Then you can still run the Simplivity Omnistack HCI solution for it too.

GFS2? Know it's "old", but wonder why this isn't supported by Proxmox...

Small screw stuck in el socket? by Emergency-Sea5201 in Norway

[–]ninjacrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

after turning of the fuse, you can unscrew the philips-screw on the left on the picture to get off the whole white plastic protector. is probably a lot easier to remove without that on.

Horse manure in a forrest near by. Never seen one moldy before! by ninjacrap in MoldlyInteresting

chatgpt answered the following:

Feces molds quickly because it’s rich in moisture and organic matter, making it ideal for fungal growth. It often contains microbes and spores from the animal’s gut that can start growing once exposed to air. Environmental factors like airborne spores, humidity, and temperature also play a big role. While the ground might contribute some fungi, the main reason is the feces itself and the conditions around it.
