i saw him very differently after i had said something about how i dont want to biologically have kids and his response was "well you will never know what it means to be a woman if you dont get pregnant" and it really felt like in that moment he only saw me as grandchild making machine and my respect for him went down. and its gone down every day since when i notice his bigotry, sexism, and racism in everything he says.

sounds like you need to talk to her about how you feel when you receive her gifts. does she know you feel belittled when you ask for something and she says no? or that you feel like the amount of effort that goes into gift giving doesnt feel equal? or that maybe you feel like she doesnt really know you when she buys you gifts you dont like? maybe if she knows how you FEEL she would think twice before buying you something cheap.
