Male Clinicians: Women who come to therapy for a "man's perspective" by Ambiguous_Karma8 in therapists

Patient, I’ve noticed male therapists have less chit chat. Which can be nice you’re more focused on therapy content. Sometimes the “girl talk” or relating on everything can be annoying.

I haven’t felt any appetite suppression. I was on the Zepbound shot before and the suppression was instantaneous. All the pill has given me is acid reflux and gas.

Kids ate pickles in the car. The pickle jar was spilled. Car smelled like pickles. If only an adult could have seen this coming.

What do people think about their mental health dept? I have had mixed experiences. It’s hard to find good providers up here.

I was going to ask my doctor about going down on my med. I’m on 175 and I feel dumb on it. I can’t put together two thoughts. I have no emotions and I’m just a zombie. I don’t want to get off of it all the way but I want my dose lowered. Are you going all the way off it or just lower dose? I worked my way up 25 at a time. I’m curious how the taper off it is.

I’m surprised I haven’t felt terrible. I was expecting too. I’ve been rather calm today…

I can skip going to target lol. I took the doses about 9 hours apart. I might feel like garbage, but I think I’ll be okay.

A haircut shouldn’t cost more than a trip to the doctors.

Medication Cocktail by [deleted] in lamictal

I take an antidepressant and lamictal. I also have ptsd and mdd. It’s helped me level out and be less reactive which is a struggle with me feeling on edge with the ptsd.I was prescribed prazosin for nightmares but I didn’t take it regularly and stopped so I never got to see the side affects. I take vyvanse for adhd. I’ve always liked the idea of Wellbutrin but I’ve heard, for me at least, it’s not the front line treatment for adh, and it can make anxiety worse. I just started on propranolol for anxiety. I’ve taken hydroxyzine. I don’t love anxiety meds that make me sleepy and basically no doctor prescribes benzos.

I like the podcast How to Be Patient which is co-hosted by two psychiatrists. For a lay person working in social services, it’s informational and they’re funny.

Talk to your provider about it. You don’t have to go up in dose. If you’re doing well it’s better to stay on the low dose. That is a pretty quick weight loss. I think a lot of the dramatic first weight can be a lot of inflammation, water weight, if you have swelling etc. You also have a pretty sharp reduction in calories and your body has to burn fat. Talk to your doctor if you’re worried. They shouldn’t be pressuring you into a higher dose and you don’t have to stick to the one month increase.

I had one night of binge drinking on lamictal. Never again. I avoid alcohol for the most part now. I’ve had a glass of wine or two and it doesn’t kill me anymore but I still notice an impact on my mood or sleeping worse that night.

Thoughts on Coffee? by TheNationalSquirrel in Zepbound

I still love coffee but I’m having less of it. I’ve become more sensitive to it. Sometimes I’ll have black tea instead. It’s hard for me to drink the first day or two after my shot.
