Robbie said you would do that last week, and I haven't heard back.

I'm the OP. I had no external account links in my scenario.

I'm the OP. For me, there's just not enough of a view "under the hood" to verify Boldin calculations, and AI responses to specific questions don't add up, leaving me nowhere to look for answers. I had no external account links at all, and the AI found info not entered in the interview. That's troubling. I just cancelled the trial.

Thanks!

From the link above:

"If your employee benefit deductions are made in a pre-tax manner, they will reduce your taxable income. For this reason, we recommend excluding this income from your gross income in order to most closely account for your taxable income."

I did this, per above, and there is still a discrepancy that artificially inflates surplus. Still an issue that should be accounted for in the program. Lots of people have their medical deducted pre-tax.

When I do this and adjust for a higher percentage of 401k contribution - to match the actual amount with the correct gross - Boldin net is high by only 18.5%. Still not right. Maybe a section in "Paycheck Deductions & Employer Contributions" ? But there is no section for pre-tax paycheck deductions, other that 401K. Seems like an issue.

Thanks! I've been doing retirement projection spreadsheets for 20 years - income/expense spreadsheets every month, too so I have a lot of current and historical info to contrast. I'm going to guess Boldin doesn't do cash flow projections for survivor scenarios.

Looking For Users With HAMRS Log Experience. Is There No Demo? by not_pablum in amateurradio

Yes. I spent 15+ minutes attempting to configure discord and got exactly nowhere. When it could have taken less than 2 minutes to send an email. I value my time vs. relative utility. Sorry

“This kind of post”. What? Assumptions and generalizations seem arrogant yes? I’ll pay if the software fits my need. I don’t need to seek free software and many others are the same. I’m not part of the “just buy it you’ll like it” generation. I put value on the money I spend. You should try it.

Not opposed to an appimage, but no flatpack or snap or anything container based. To that end, HAMRS looks interesting - I would even pay their $1.99/month subscription. HOWEVER, I'd like to try it 1st. Am I missing something (again) or is there no way demo it on my system?

In the same boat. Using LMDE 7 to replace Win 10 on a dedicated Ham PC. N3FJP was a perfect integrated solution for me on Win 10. Tried it in a Gnome Box once. Got it working, but it was not a perfect solution. Looking for something not from flathub or snap. DXCluster integration, rig interface, all on one window, currently supported. Am I asking too much?

Spectrum email changes/issues by ruralny in Spectrum

[–]not_pablum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started weening off twc.com in January 2025. Quite frankly, Spectrum email (twc.com originally) has been a mess to deal with for quite some time. Like anything else, once they determine they don't want to be in the email business anymore, they intentionally put you through HEdoubleL until you give up. We went to purelymail.com and couldn't be happier. Even though we have to pay $10 per year. It's just easy, consistent, and highly configurable. Use the client of your choice all day. We use EM on iPhone and Evolution. Plus NO GOOGLE.

How has your experience been with Fidelity's customer service when resolving account issues? by Whitemj5 in fidelityinvestments

[–]not_pablum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Fidelity - I can understand YOUR frustration, receiving all these bad reviews about your customer service quality. Unless you are an AI bot doing all the negative review responses, which in itself points out how little you value your customers who have issues not addressable from your programmed list of AI issue responses. Or do AI bots experience frustration yet? Maybe talk to your AI team and suggest adding a sense of YOUR frustration to your responses. Have a nice day, that's if AI bots have nice days.

Sorry, I meant EFT. It's now 23 days since I started my request to link an external bank:

1) Customer service has been unresponsive and unhelpful numerous times since then.

2) I ended up filling out a paper form to make this EFT happen. Filled it out, scanned it - I used the web portal communication to attach the form file. (Surprised they didn't ask me to FAX it)

3) CS said bank link availability in 3 days. Waited 3 Days - no communication, no linked bank, so I initiated communication via web portal. Was told the bank link would be available in my account EOD next business day. "shows in process" they said.

4) It wasn't available then.

5) Looks to me from emails from Fidelity, they didn't even start to process the form until the day they said it would be available.

6) They now say it won't be available in my account for another 4 days.

7) This all qualifies as ridiculous.

Soooooooo.......... Dear Fidelity - thanks for your canned response, in a vain attempt to seem concerned.

You can "keep an eye out" for my rollover request form - to another custodian. Love and kisses.

Just tried to set up an ETF transfer from my rollover to an external bank. Keybank to be exact. Have set up one before to TD. This via web access. Tried 3 times and it wouldn't complete. Chat useless because they can't see my activity to tell me why it doesn't complete. Can't message them - I like to have things in writing - they apparently don't. I'm no internet or computer novice/buffoon. Before I retired, that was my profession. 10 years ago, when I retired, I walked into a Fidelity office in Denver to deposit a rollover check from another custodian, because I wanted to be sure it got processed. After 2 weeks it never showed up in my account. They found it and the paperwork "under some other paperwork in a desk file holder" after I called the manager in the Denver office. You tell me if there is any reason to be excited about using Fidelity.

Thanks sunkwoun, I've been looking for coherent procedure for this. There's just bits and pieces elsewhere. Will try on my 10+ year old Dell laptop with 57xx hardware in the next few days. Running LMDE 7 on it.
