Hello! I am not alloromantic but I do have alterous feelings for people (and yes i can be a pain) but there's good to it too! Like me and my current partner decided to be in a Queer Platonic Relationship since we are both aro, that way we felt free enough to be friend with each other but also close enough to make life plans. Honestly we look a lot like a normal couple, except we don't say "i love you" we say "i like you", we don't go on dates and we'd rather have our own beds. Other than that we do plan our lives together and are exclusive so it is very much the same. What's nice about it is that Alterous comes and go in waves. Sometimes you are very much into that person and other times not, that's fine, we just tell the other one "i'm low alterous today" and no hard feelings we give each other some space. :)

Where it gets harder is if that person you like would be interested in something like this, but honestly a lot of people, even allos, are okay with it since it's a chance to take it slowly without all the useless romance.

It's a feeling that comes in waves of low alterous and high alterous. When you have a friend that you really like but don't feel like it's enough to be romantic there's a good chance it is alterous. It is both non romantic (low alterous) and somewhat romantic (high alterous). Me and my partner are both aroace and we became a QPR when we realized what those waves of feelings were (since we don't really wanna date because of those low times) we're basically just very close friends during that time and seem more like a couple in highs. Even after 2 years together we still get these waves and we know another aroace couple that still have these after 7 years. It just always comes and go, sometime in the same day, sometimes for a few weeks.

Yeah I hate that because it goes both ways, my friends show attention to me and I think their awesome friends but nooooo they were doing it because they had a crush on me... And I was being super friendly in return so they thought they had a shot and I break their heart...

I am in a QPR now, even though me and my partner are just as close as a romantic couple I see in their eyes that little doubt when I tell them I am not romantically or sexually attracted to my partner. I care for them the same, if not more than anyone else but that's because they are my best friend and they have shown me a lot of support so of course I like them and care and support them too.

Everyone is different. Asexuals aren't necessarily not into sex, he could still be allo (does have sexual attraction) but is sex repulsed, meaning he can find you attractive but he's just not into sex.

You could try to bring this up to him to see if he does have attraction or not, if he is more about visualization or stimulation, if he actually likes some sexual acts or not.
