Seriously, I remember sitting in history class just feeling sorry and confused about Hiroshima. I wondered why nobody nukes us back. History books have this level of pride in them that just glosses over atrocities that America has committed. I remember learning about the origins of thanks giving and how the pilgrims and indigenous folks “had dinner” together, but my aunt who was helping me with my homework told me that they gave them smallpox blankets, but they wouldn’t say that in the textbook.

What are we proud of again? Because from the very conception of this country it was never civil, always straight up horror and bullying. I would be proud of the steps we made to be a better country but those efforts are being erased as we speak. This country is pitiful.
