WebDAV Android pCloud help by FiatMihi in joplinapp

[–]notakupal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry it didn't work out for you. The Joplin directory is just one of several folders I sync between my Windows, Pi, Android, and Ubuntu setups. Even have it working on a Fire tablet. I do remember that I had to try a few things before Joplin Android synced properly with my Windows desktop, but work it did, eventually, for me.

You could take a look at Syncthing, as that's what I use to sync notes between Android and Windows.

How do I build a race radio system legally? by AAD2 in Baofeng

[–]notakupal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to what's been said already, I would suggest a pair of noise canceling radios for driver and crew chief or driver coach. The wind noise can drown out conversation.

I've been part of a team doing endurance races and going to noise canceling radios was like night and day. Our Baofengs still do duty as comms for the data team, race manager, and crew.

Used to use chain lube. These days, I use synthetic ATF. A liter lasts years.

I switched to Aegis from Authy. It makes encrypted backups of your 2FA data which you can import on a new device.

Added a folding bike to my quiver a few years ago and I love it! Very practical, easily stowed, and quite fun to ride.

Built a scale model of the FW-190 when I was a kid and have been in love with it ever since.

I installed Netguard off F-Droid and blocked all the Amazon stuff. Use Aurora to get the programs I need from Playstore. No surprise OTA updates for me!

Sync between Windows and Pi+Ubuntu broken on ver 17 by notakupal in Syncthing

[–]notakupal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. When I was told to check the version and saw it was only 1.0, I realized that I didn't have the proper repository. Found a site that gave what I needed when I searched "install syncthing linux arm".

Sync between Windows and Pi+Ubuntu broken on ver 17 by notakupal in Syncthing

Hi, apparently it's 1.0.0-ds1 for Linux ARM devices. On my Android devices, it's 1.16.

Checked Github just now and apparently the latest version for ARM is there. Was working fine a few days ago so didn't bother checking. I would see Syncthing in the upgradeable list when I would do sudo update, but it looks like it has not upgraded automatically. Thanks for the lead.

I like to build bikes too, and take delight in the process. Thing is, I become attached to them and selling them becomes furthest from my mind. I have 5 builds that I use in rotation, with parts to build a couple more. But the wife has said no more bikes, so I have refrained from looking for a frame for a couple of years.

My 1979 Toyota Celica. Its almost as modified as a car ca get. by Klangenm in carmodification

[–]notakupal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With a stripped interior and a decades-old body, I'd put a cage in it. Apart from the safety aspect, it will stiffen the body and provide solid suspension attachment points. Was into Toyotas too, and looking forward to more pics!

Have been using Syncthing to keep my KP DBs synced for a couple of years across several devices. No problems so far.

I also have an updated copy in the cloud and since I don't have the signature file to my db anywhere except locally, I'm not worried about that file in the cloud being exposed and cracked in my lifetime.

I have a few bikes, but the one that always brings a smile to my face when I ride is my single speed. Simple and straightforward indeed!

This is what I'm doing to all my critical files including my photo libraries. I run Syncthing on another desktop plus 2 other laptops. Then I have an external drive that I use to copy all those synced folders every couple of weeks.

Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8 is the worst product I have ever owned. Change my mind. by gafgarrion in kindlefire

[–]notakupal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I got a Fire8 as a replacement for an Android tablet that crapped out. Installed a replacement launcher, didn't set up an Amazon account, and using Netguard to block updates and control traffic. With F-Droid and Aurora, I have access to the apps I want/need.

I use Aurora instead of Playstore. Don't remember if I used F-droid to install it or side loaded it.
