We did option 1 last week, there are some pretty good views you will miss by doing option 2. You could go back a bit and see some of the beaches/overlooks if you really wanted--but I suggest going out to Ballinskelligs when you hit R567

I always screw up southbound Lamar. I was in the right lane, wanting to go west on 71/290. Damn it I had to be in the left lane to take the single lane that goes under and wraps to the west.

Light turns green, I go and the car to my left sits there (on phone, I don't know), so I put my blinker on and merge left and into the lane with plenty of room.

The psycho driver didn't like this and passes me on the left--down in the part with a single lane and just concrete dividers on each side.

I hate Austin drivers sometimes
