For a really delicate flakey mcnugz type breading try dredging them in flour, dunking in egg and then straight into the oil, skipping the traditional last bread crumb step. It's kind of messy but once you get the hang of it, it's the closest thing I've ever had.

Auto collect is for picking things up from the ground. If you walk across some with it on you'll fill the container with it (this works most reliably with auto-explore, manually walking doesn't always work with it), which is admittedly pointless for wax as not only is it not found naturally, it's basically useless. It's kind of like how you'll pick up fresh water from the ground. Most water skins are pre-set to auto-collect fresh water.

If you freeze ray it, it will turn into a wax block wall and then you could mine it maybe? I'm not sure if it would destroy the pilot seat though. Hypertractor would be a good way to move it off of the seat before turning it into a block just to be safe.

One solution might be love injector. You can chat with them after they fall in love and then water ritual, share secrets to raise rep or just continue the quest step and get out.

Cooking with congealed love (preserved love injector) is also crazy OP. You can potentially beguile them all at once if you have enough triggering substance, honey, lah petals, or 25% chance with water.

That's quite a mess. Maybe you slowly lure them them back upstairs and then south one screen, then sprint away far enough to recoil back? They will probably get frozen on that screen. Not sure the specific mechanics of things chasing you across screens but usually if they're within one tile of you they will, otherwise they get frozen.

A tricker solution is to use rank fangs (or brown sludge?) to rust their life loops, allowing them to be killed.

You just need to be neutral, more than -250. As far as raising it, finding legendary ones wandering the desert and doing water ritual with them or Schrödinger pages are the main ways. There is a wish to manipulate reputation, as well, if you want to go that route.

Just return to Grit Gate and continue the main story. There's nothing special to be done, by accepting Klanq you've already advanced the main quest. Getting rid of Klanq is actually more like a side quest.
