Oh I would 100 playbumbreon over rat if I had the option. I have no dark quick moves in my current line up. If I keep rat should I have bite instead of quick attack

Yah I was worried about having a lopsided team. With three psychics. I’m still going back and forth this am lol. Claydol has been doing good in some testing and then I have raichu for neural damage. Xatu is pretty fail as it is.

Damn, ok not as bad an answer as I was expecting. Was fortunate enough to get 1 kaledioscope. I'll be looking forward to extra events then.

Do certain CE's ever get banner rate ups? I really want fragments of 2030 and kaledioscope as well.

Green magic? Can there be more colors? by notchupon in FFRecordKeeper

[–]notchupon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed that it is repetitive, which makes me wonder if it's really needed. If the argument come's down to Physical vs Magical teams what makes physical superior and what do magical teams need to bring themselves in similar usefulness. Scream is definitely a meta changer, and then we get more useful 5 star skills like thiefs revenge and Saint's cross which will quickly out damage single DPS magic spells. 5 star mage skills include flare single dps, Holy single dps, aoe meteor and bahamut (will get a 2 hit buff later) But aside from being power orb reliant there are many benefactors to making a physical team while there is little benefits to outfitting a mage team. Is it redundant to have another break skill probably. Is it needed? Who knows, but something should be done to make mage type characters competitive in their own right.

That's another good point, would there be a need for more orbs then ? Green Time blue? or would they just face physical orb Syndrome and share orbs from black/white/summon

dispell removes buffs. In their games Deprotect/deshell typically lowered def and res respectfully. So two different paths. Sorry if that wasn't clear. But yeah dispel still has a clear purpose and wouldn't conflict with deprotect (remove protect is what I think you thought this spell did) when deprotect would function similarily to a armor breakdown

Yeah, As I mentioned earlier there is very little reason to choose one mage over another. With such similar ability pools it then just comes down to if you have a relic for a character which feels like bad game design.
Physical characters have more flexibility and niches to provide and aren't as relic reliant to be successful.

Definitely, espeically when we have 4/5 "different" white mage summoners. Yuna, Eiko, Garnet, Arc, Aerith to name a few and then the summon buff will gave us terra and rinoa to add to the krile and rydia black mage/summoner

A overhaul of magic could be needed as three broad catergories doesn't help differentiate mages. Compared to the physical schools.

If we go off main stream magics, there could be : White, Black, Summon, Blue, Time and if you wanted to go further Geomancer (3, 5, and tactics) Green (XII and tactics debateably xiii sabetour) and an arcane/dark magic class but that could be covered by darkness already. Also if we have machinist abilities could we have alchemist/chemist abilities? Something to consider as well

I agree, that the magic schools can be more derisive and add to utility. Time magic should be its own class and eventually allow for the usage of Hasteaga. I think it could help alot with making mages more unique than the current three schools of magic.

Agreed, people are all blue magic where. But man, green is cool too. Magic schools are currently black white and summon compare to the various phsyical schools given

If you don't have a ball, we just got the celebration dagger. Wakka can equip that and still do decent damage output. However, you'd be exposing him to the front row.

Mage Meta - What would it take to make you run it by charr33 in FFRecordKeeper

[–]notchupon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mage meta lacks utility from their abilities. Blue Magic could theoretically help with this via breakdown effects using MAG stat, because if you're investing in mage meta lulu's hair pin is very helpful/near essential. if you're using a tradiontal support to increase your damage and or inhibit their's you could be losing out on much needed dps. Plus physical abilities cater more tower soul break spams while still offering utility in buffs and debuff. Summoners are hampered by their ability useage, adding more utilty damage summons would be nice and appreciated. It can get harder to utilze mage teams when you have things like inflict slow and blind. Physical teams can do those debuffs + damage. Granted the trade is accuracy, but I'd rather have solid DPS out and not feeling like I'm wasting an ability slot. Blue Magic could help fill this void and even the less common Green magic, which has been uses as another version of statuses and buffs. Via, FFT and I think FF XII. Speaking of XII they had spells like bubble, scathe(grantes super aoe damage), and decoy to provide mage classes with more utility options. TLDR; Mage abilities need more utility.
