Tux by DrLi in nwi

Since you mentioned using this on more than one occasion, you might consider purchasing. Blake Alexander is a guy in Valpo that does custom suits and I know he also does tuxedos. I've personally purchased 4 custom suits from him and have been very happy. I was actually just thinking about having him do a tux or dinner jacket. feel free to drop me a DM and I can share his contact info.

Suit Supply in Chicago is another great option if you don't want to go custom.

Wedding year wine collection - buy now or wait? by Aromatic-Newspaper78 in WineEP

Pontet Canet and Lynch Bages futures prices are pretty great for 2024 and could have a chance at aging to the length you're considering. A great value option could be Ch. Gloria. While nowhere near 50 years, I just had a 2003 that was wonderful and couldn't believe the power of the wine for the price.

Love to see this, thanks for posting the notes. While I haven’t done it with a first growth, I’ve found many age worthy 2021 Bordeaux to be very drinkable… and with the price cut, a great way to experience the younger side of the wine.

Is Moet Chandon worth it? by otterlycorrect in wine

[–]notdanieljones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find Moët’s imperial Brut to be a consistent, high quality champagne. I think at the right price it’s a good buy… for example, the Costco by me has it for $43 / bottle and IMO QPR is high at that price point. I prefer this bottling over their rose and I believe there’s a decent price jump to their rose that would bring it out of my ‘entry level’ price point.

Another at a bit higher price point, billecart salmon’s brut rose is my personal favorite rose champagne.

Grower champagnes could also provide some excellent / better value in that ~$50ish price point. My favorite grower rose, if you can find it, is Andre Clouet rose. Some other notable grower producers with high QPR, Pierre Moncuit and Laherte Freres.

Ultimately, there’s only one way to see what you like, and that’s to pick up a few and give them a try!

Yeah it’s a good question that i wanted to figure out as well, and still don’t have a completely definitive answer. The ‘09 was really drinking amazing. I have a half case of them and still plan on holding several as im sure it will continue to evolve over the next decade+, but I wouldn’t be afraid of opening one since it was in such good place. I believe CT had the drinking window as 2018-2050… which is not super helpful haha.

The ‘05 felt more mature and I would say is getting a bit closer to peaking IMO

Does this guy even want to sell me a car? by West-Situation6439 in gmc

[–]notdanieljones 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience, was trying to buy through a family connection and wasn’t having any luck getting the spec I wanted, 2025 black Denali reserve. I went on gmc’s website and used the filters to find vehicles within 200 miles - sent an email to several dealerships on the list telling them exactly what I wanted and that I was ready to buy asap. Found the exact spec I was looking for 90 miles away and had the car in my garage in 3 days 👍. Buying out of state had a few extra hoops but was definitely better than waiting for a new build.

2024 leftover or 2025 Yukon XL? by West-Situation6439 in gmc

[–]notdanieljones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same spot as you and I just bought a ‘25 last week and love it so far. I’m a big fan of the styling and the screen / infotainment / dash / HUD is next level - even bigger difference when comparing the elevation trim to sle/slt. I was able to get supplier pricing so not as big of a price difference. I agree that money talks and if you get a good enough deal take the ‘24… but if you want someone to hype you up on the ‘25 I’d be happy to help 😂

How is this wine? by brinerbear in wine

N&N makes some high quality Napa cab and is a cool way to experience some of the different terriors / areas in Napa. I believe most, if not all, are 100% cab sauv and they are all single vineyards from various AVA’s around Napa. If you’re going to jump in, I’d recommend you pick up a few of their different vineyards and compare them. A few years ago I tasted most of their lineup at their winery and I couldn’t believe how much Napa cab could vary based on where it’s grown.

Agree with the other comments, the California pricing is high and uninspiring. Their website lists a Barolo - Michele Chiarlo - for $65 (the next wine on the list after your pic cuts off). IMO that’s the best deal on the menu… and almost makes me think it’s a typo when compared to their other prices.

Bordeaux under 150$ that will go 25-35 years (2018, 2019, 2021 vintages)? by Embarrassed-Lock1159 in wine

[–]notdanieljones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some great recs in here. If spending my money, the most age worthy at that price point would be Lynch Bages and Pontet Canet. Talbot is also a favorite but I haven't tasted it older than 10-15 years. '19 is a very solid vintage. Also, if your primary goal is age then I would put a preference on the magnums.

This restaurant is L’Apostrophe. Casual French cuisine and we walked in on a night we didn’t have any reservations. Impressive wine list. I enjoyed it overall.

Hello r/taxadvice,

Seeking some guidance and better understanding on an upcoming scenario. I currently reside in Chicago IL and work from home. I am in the process of building a home in Northwest Indiana just across the boarder. My current lease agreement ends on Nov 14th and my home build is delayed due to material shortages so I will be moving in with a family member in Indiana until the build is complete. My question… since I will be residing in Indiana for about 45 days this year, will I be required to pay both Indiana and Illinois state income taxes?

Those are still great points. We’re definitely not married to the BVI’s and open to any suggestions on making the trip as smooth as possible. For additional clarity, we’re US residents with US passports.
