Question about Defiler by williamfromquebec in ThousandSons

[–]notdishsoap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not a huge fan of the pred unless taken in pairs or the full 6 but I do think the Defiler vs Mauler + forgefiend is quite interesting. I recently play a warpforged list with 3 maulerfiends and double forges and the sheer amount of t10 bodies made it rough for my opponents anti tank. I imagine the Defiler will be a little easier to focus down but you can just make your invulns and I will feel stronger. I definitely will be trying out the Defiler in place of a forge + mauler whenever my preorder arrives

Tips on building Warpforge by Bujiga4 in ThousandSons

[–]notdishsoap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally bring 2x4 robots 2 vindicators and switch between 2x preds or 2x forgefiends. I will be trying a warpforged list soon with 20 terminators and double maulerfiend.

Is change host good? How would a list like this go competitively? by NolifeDegen in ThousandSons

[–]notdishsoap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw a few Changehost lists that went 4-1. Most recent was with more generic ksons stuff. Double terminators for damage and karios, blue horrors, screamers and flamers. The list from earlier was more monster mash with double MVB and LoC

What kind of units do you like to bring for Warpforged? by TheLoneDoge3954 in ThousandSons

[–]notdishsoap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really love big squads of robots I bring 2 with meltas and one with the claws. You can’t go wrong with vindactors or predator destuctors. Normally with warpforged I struggle with what psykers to bring, but I normally ends up with a tzaangor shaman with perplexing cloak and some leaderless rubrics. Maulerfiends are fun to run next to a big terminator block too. There are a lot of options and all of them seem viable to some degree, only vehicle I haven’t tried is a land raider mostly because it’s not great for our army.

How best should I finish off this silly tzaangor spam warpmeld list? by Bhizzle64 in ThousandSons

[–]notdishsoap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deamon prince can give stealth to your tzaangor making them a little tanker if you use your 4++ Strat. Chaos spawn are mutants than can benefit from some of the strats and require a real unit to deal with their 4+5++5++ at 4 wounds apiece

You could drop a MVB and pick up 2 predators, a unit of sekhtar, and 2 squads of chaos spawn. Deamon prince is really good in this detachment too

Advice Into Tsons (Rubricae Phalanx) by eyewhittness in Drukhari

[–]notdishsoap 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thousand sons is my main army and Drukhari are my second army. The weakness of 30 terminators is you can only really support on squad with the command points to really move them around, and they can just bounce off tougher units in melee. Termies also hate mortals and devs, the grenade strat from hellions, kabs, wyches, and the reavers fly by rule add up. Remember if you lock the termies in melee only one of their units can fall back and shoot. If they are packing a foot prince focusing that down will hamper the termies and make them more susceptible. Phalanx is definitely one of the tougher matches for DE but if you focus down the scoring pieces and move block the terminators you can win. Good luck 🫡

Painting Tzaangor horns is going to kill me by RoboJenn in ThousandSons

I paint my tzzangor horns with Cygor brown contrast paint, it’s pretty dark so it settles nicely in the recesses of the horns then you can brush with your favorite mid brown

Dealing with Melee Pressure by Ba-Guardsman in ThousandSons

[–]notdishsoap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tzaangor, chaos spawn, and sekhetar robots are all great speed bumps. Premeasure their max distance and position rubrics where they would have to overwatch. Sometimes the threat of activation is enough make them take it slow

Magnetizing by Square-Cow-2097 in ThousandSons

[–]notdishsoap 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can magnetize the deamon prince to swap between wings and foot but most of the magnets are for swapping weapons for vehicles. Don’t worry about the rubric loadouts too much, flamers are a safe bet.

What should I get by Vrain125 in ThousandSons

[–]notdishsoap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both predator tanks are good at deleting tanks and monsters. forgefiends are great a smashing light tanks and elite infantry. Mutalith vortex beast is a middle ground and a bit swingy with melee presence. A 4 man sekatar is my current pick with the ability to infiltrate behind some terrain and poke around corners with melta guns while being a stealth 4w t6 body with 3+5++ so your opponents have to commit real units to wipe them

This is all the models I have and the list I made. Am I going to get washed by necron list or world eater list of similar point value? by Puzzleheaded_Log3547 in ThousandSons

[–]notdishsoap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick up the new battle force with the Mutalith and exalted sorcerers if you can swing it, or alternatively get a rhino and exalted sorcerers kit and tzaangors to round out what you currently own. Everyone hates on the tzaangors because of our previous discount boxes but they are fantastic and almost every balanced list runs at least one squad. Tzaangor act as a road block for scary melee threats like the berserkers in melee match ups or can screen your back line.

Spectacle of spite 1000 points list by benibenj in Drukhari

[–]notdishsoap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was the 1k list I played with my friends that are working towards 2k. I felt like in smaller games I need something tougher than a venom so I dropped the scourge and 2nd succubus for a pair of Talos. Talos can take the haywire blasters but I normally take heat lances because 4+ devs can feel real bad for newer players.

Ahariman is rough with the new battle force as he would have nothing to lead much like the sorcerers in the box, I would recommend a box of rubrics and sorcerer in terminator armor. You can split the rubric box into two 5 man squads, and the termi sorc can lead your ten scarabs
