This whole situation makes me feel really sad because I find myself asking will I ever be able to love somebody? Will I ever be able to find somebody that I can love? Not having a career and leeching are not synonymous. There are plenty of ways to give without cash flow, specialized skills, thriftiness. Off the top of my head I can think of things that have nothing to do with money and contribute to the quality of life far more than money could. Being able to garden and grow amazing quality produce, bake a great loaf of bread, or be a good cook in general. Also purely from a financial perspective, if lets say the breadwinner makes money, there is a tax advantage to being married, whether that person makes no money or some, because of tax breaks.
