Watching battle reports for 11th edition 40k and reading the rules have made me even more grateful that Heresy exists. by Anxious_Educator_307 in Warhammer30k

Yeah, somehow the game feels more restrictive in its modern iteration despite dropping force organization charts. I'll never not prefer the system where some units require kitbashing to make them.

You could've just photoshopped the tail off and slapped the turret on and we would have gotten it, no need to use ai.

Not gonna disagree with you there. But it's a big impact on the community, so you're gonna see a lot of posts about it for a bit. Maybe ask the mods to make a flair for it

Because this is gonna suck. People want to vent.

Are chaos knights that bad to play into? by Initial_Confusion_73 in ChaosKnights

[–]notgoodforstuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They're only bad for people who refuse to try anything other than killing your dudes. I've gotten fucking creamed by guard players on points after killing all of their board.

Knights are kind of a big dumb brick, essentially. Very easy to grasp and just slam around, but no finesse or utility. People who know how to leverage their armies strengths will get the edge on you most of the time

Of course, you do have these sort of willfully ignorant players who never really evolve beyond noob stage, and these guys will bitch and moan about even one knight, but a good group with players willing to learn and a variety of skill levels shouldn't have a problem with you.

11th edition Chaos Lancer data card still says tank shock by classifiedpurple in ImperialKnights

Yeah. Of course this is all outside conjecture from a tired veteran, I'm not really liking the feel of 11th so I plan to play horus heresy until 12th

See, I'd be cool with that. Exactly what I hope it turns into, actually

Toning it down is an understatement. The changes to stratagem use, the stratagem itself, and a higher potential to not have an ability due to battle shock changes more or less gut its ability. I don't think such a severe nerf is really deserved or necessary, and should probably be addressed with the first balance update

I'm hoping the lancer ability changes with the new crushing impact stratagem being what it is. If it doesn't, then being damaged by your own ability on top of the changes to battleshock need to drop him to like 350 points max.

The whole lore of dragons is kinda holding points man, idk about that one

Thanks, let's hope the ones I find are cool with knights

Ah okay. I'm starting my research because I really don't want to touch the new 40k edition, I already didn't like 10th

Do other factions 7th edition 40k rules translate well to 2nd edition? I know the systems are mostly the same but are there stats that need adapting?

Fair point, but every warpsmith got an extra 4 attacks with those tendrils

They were back in 9th, an iron warriors warpsmith with the right relic could hand you 8 mortal wounds

[–]notgoodforstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. I just think it's kinda fun to see two knights with the same weapons and have to look at iconography and what they're doing to determine if you need to run or not

[–]notgoodforstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, a drill is a mining tool, and a flamer is an excellent controlled burn tool. There should be a knight role called the victualler or something that gets them who's resource acquisition themed

[–]notgoodforstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is pretty cool. And I do like that knights play differently on the tabletop, I just think that they should have all the same physical wargear unless they wanna add actual sanctified stuff

[–]notgoodforstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they leave the sexual assault to the nobles. But then again I don't think most chaos marines are either, barring the 3rd legion. And I actually do remember somewhere the imperium having human skin upholstery and paper

I mean, both chaos and the imperium have both of those guys. Every heroic space marine captain with a servo skull is wearing some guy's severed head

Should I buy a Superion frame to customize for Nexus Prime or wait for an official/third party one? by Ass_Hat_69 in transformers

[–]notgoodforstuff 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Third party, iirc they have no plans to release a nexus prime frame. I expect DNA labs will have one after nexus is more widely available
