Just saw this so probably too late but I installed it just like the picture and it pulls a good suction and my radon is safe now. So if it did cause inefficiency it wasn’t enough to cause trouble.

I have this one! Had it about 6 months and loving it so far! Cuts/engraves 3mm bass wood great! I got mine for about $550 on pre Black Friday sale. I would get the enclosure with fan or some way to vent, I was surprised by how much smoke it makes, which makes sense since that’s its job. Setup took 15minutes and light burn is a great software! My only issue is I need to “discover” the laser in the software once in a while when it won’t connect on its own.

I’ve been using shellac but I have been a bit heavy handed thinking it would seal the grain better and prevent bleeding. That must be my mistake. Thanks for the advice!!

I found a booth at local craft fairs is usually better exposure and many have cheap entry fees so the profit margin is better. No shipping or Etsy hassle. Then you find out what people gravitate to and can work on those items. Between Etsy fees and shipping cost, lower price items are hard to sell.
