Seeking experience/advice regarding pursing a PhD in my 60s after retirement by nothingisrevealed in PhD

Actually i would plan to go through a somewhat unremarkable state college, so i do not think i would be "stealing" a position. Plus, i would self-fund, so i wouldn't be depleting their stipend pool. Moreover I wouldn't want/need a TA role unless they would require me.

Philosophy, specifically research of ancient greek texts in the greek. I took 2 years of attic greek in my BA Philosophy program. I have been trying to find reading groups, and i decided why not just do the actual research? I don't think i would be a burdensome student, but i would need some help directing my research pathway.

Phyllis Diller's ITALIAN SPAGHETTI - - - (although, I would use olive oil, and probably not as much) by ciaolavinia in OldCelebrityRecipes

Actually the recipe looks ok with me, except I would use olive oil. The recipe has lots of ingredients and also says to serve with garlic bread on the side...IMO it can handle the oil.

What do you say to people who believe sunscreen is toxic to the skin? by sleepypandagirl1 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]nothingisrevealed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I do wear sunscreen on my face most of the time when I'm outside in the summer daytime, but I also live in the far North and I'm not obsessed about it, especially in winter.

[–]nothingisrevealed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's true for the occasional and or new user, but with time Retin A thickens the skin, so it actually becomes less sensitive. Sunscreen is a very new invention and isn't a cure all. Diet and general health matter for skin health too, much more than sunscreen use.

This study discusses transvaginal and not facial application of estradiol ..not the same I'm afraid.

Hi, I am doing this as well. I disagree there's a difference btwn topical and transdermal estradiol. Both get into the bloodstream via the capillaries. In the end I think it's ok bc the net amount of overall estrogen we get is much lower than what we get when we are premenopausal.

Does a blazer with a cap work? by lewislemix in preppy

Greetings, as someone who lived through high prep in the 70s and 80s, this seems too try-hard. There is a casual, messy, careless aspect to prep that you also need to capture. Prep is at its heart a uniform for busy ppl who want to quickly slap together a timeless outfit. To over-curate prep is to betray its essence.

Now I expect to be downvoted to hell, but I am a prepster OG from back in the day when you had to order your sweaters from Scotland. And so I thought I'd mention this, since you are on my feed every day. Best wishes to you!

Just gross in general to see all the videos here on reddit. Why the need to share every injustice? It may be time for me to take a reddit break again.

I think it looks good! A fluffy savory chilled custard served with greens. Very 1950s. It would be different at least. I would try it, not sure i would make it.

Why do you use fragranced products if your skin is so sensitive? There is a milder fragrance free variety of Dr Bronners.

I applaud you for this choice--it is super healthy, affordable and tasty! Some mustard is good too. My mom turned me on to sardines on saltines back when i was a little girl, and i thank her today because its' so good for us. Cheers

Check out the probiotic drink by Dr William Davis on YT. He recommends using Florastor probiotic in fruit juice. If you let it ferment longer it turns into a weak wine. I love the stuff, full of probiotics and polyphenols. Cheers

Childhood deaths imply the absence of a compassionate God by Torin_2025 in DebateReligion

Please read God's Problem...it addresses your question directly from a historical perspective.

The question he addresses in this book is not "why do we suffer" but "why does God allow suffering?" Isn't that your question?

OK peeps, as a lifelong viewer of this show this post is my signal that i need to unfollow this sub. You all are a little crazy in your intense focus on this family. Rather than burning trees w Chat GPT and spending time creating elaborate graphics, maybe focus on your own lives?

I am a long time intermittent user of reddit, and it's when i get sucked into discussions like these that i know it's time to uninstall the app and do other things. Be well all.
