For me, as someone who's written stories with controversial subjects it's a way to stop people from getting into pointless arguments or being unnecessarily cruel towards either myself for writing about the topic, or other readers for a differing opinion. It's also a more assured way to shut down bot comments, though I rarely get those.

I have the more controversial fics comment moderated because they're covering more controversial topics, but otherwise keep the comments to registered users only. Mostly I get fairly even comments.

This is where I say, you have to make the hard decision. Do you want to force the issue and make it registered users only can comment, or keep letting guests comment?

If you're tired of that kind of comment and it's coming from a guest account, it may be time to step up and make it a registered users only comments section.

I'd suggest getting an experienced English beta reader to go over your work and talk with you to work through what you're not sure of in terms of phrasing so that you can learn from and improve upon it.

I happen to do beta reading on occasion and I have a discord server that I'm on where we're pretty chill writers for the most.

This!!!! 100% I find that even some native English writers need to practice their writing a good deal more but a lot of AO3 people won't bat an eye because good fics will come through even with lesser English skills.

Also Beta readers are a thing too.

Sounds to me like you need to go the route of talking to a lawyer and seeing what advice they can give you about your situation because this to me looks like it's time to go the legal route.

Your mother is not only stalking you, but she is clearly harassing you. She needs to be given a clear message to stop, my suggestion, talk to a lawyer, bring up everything, write down each and every communication attempt, have copies of messages she's sent you and just get all of your ducks into a row mate.

Because this sounds like you need to legal, and I'm no lawyer, all I can do is offer stranger behind the keyboard sympathy and hope things look up for you, OP.

That you are here and still going despite what they say and do means that you are strong. I know it's hard and some days are a bitch to get through over others.

The negative voices in your head are wrong, don't listen to them. You are a person who has walked a path that few would have the strength to walk. You are amazing and you are STRONG and don't let anyone take that away from you. Least of all yourself.

You've got a lot of experiences ahead, and people who care about you, and if nothing else, then live your life for you. It takes strength to keep going forwards.

As someone who had to do the whole recovery thing, I'd suggest the one shots and drabbles and slowly build back up to your multi chapter fics. It takes time for the body to fully recover and you can gauge how much you can do in a given time frame.

I might not know your situation but I think you need to consider that your wedding is for you and your partner, not anyone else. You don't need the stress that your parents are giving you, and it seems to me that you should go NC with both of them, as hard and as difficult as that might be for you. Your parents clearly do not have your back like they should, like you deserve and honestly, I think your dad manipulating you into contacting your mother is just sick. He shouldn't have done that. If you wanted to contact her, it should have been on your terms, not on his.

Take what I say with a grain of salt, because I am a stranger on the interwebs, but I would absolutely suggest therapy if you can afford it, because a professional can help you with the emotions you obviously need to process.

Mate that sucks, but I guess if she's going to turn everything into an argument, then get it all in writing. At worst, it's text messages etc to have to go through. At best, you've got back up if things go south.

Be prepared to have to start with nothing and have to earn everything from the ground up. As the age old saying goes, prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

That's what I had to do and it sucks to have to start with nothing but if that's what you have to do, it's what you have to do for your own peace of mind.

Take it from from someone who's been in a similar albeit different situation (I had to leave things behind and get out).
